Gambino, whats up bro.. is this book good. Ive read alot however I was checking Capeci website out and it look interesting. How is it different than say life and times of Gotti ,, John Gotti, Costra Nostra Bosses, etc.. thanks

murder machine is about some small time italian thugs who climb the ladder of crime ruthlessly...murder, drug dealing, car theft.
the "roy demeo gang", as they are loosely reffered to, where linked up with the gambinos. roy's dealings lead to a case against paul castellano, the head gambino. so the characters have cred.
much better than the overplayed gotti story

but in my opinion, yes to some degree.
they talk too much in sopranos, too loose
i really doubt they would be carrying on business in the bada bing like they do
would certainly be bugged
and i don't think richie aprile killing that hooker would have gone un-investigated, all those witnesses
another thing, they don't get busted enough. IRL, the feds aren't bumbling idiots like they are on that show.
IMO, the odds of a tony living that high flying a life with apparatently no past convictions is unrealisitic

I know in the court transcripts Sammy Gravino testified that he gave Gotti over 1 million a year from his illegal and legal enterprises. It is speculated that Gotti pocketed as much as 15 million a year which I feel would be inlin. The Gambino family was estimated at 500 million a year in legal and illegal revenue..
