why dont they just execute him instead? i guess if its not legal to do that in illinois, couldnt they at least treat him a little more humanely? no point in treating him like crap when he will no longer be able to harm anyone for the rest of his life.
he never faced the death penalty for whatever reason
so that's why he was not executed
his crimes were committed in ny but since his federal conviction sent him to illinois.
he's responsible for 50 plus murders and countless other acts of violence, drug dealing, and theft.
does that sound like someone who deserves humane treatment?
he was treated humanely by being allowed to live w/o physical torture, something he didn't allow his victims

it ain't that bad.

ever wonder why so many get out, and the first thing thye do - is reoffend and get back in? and many who dont even wanna leave?

few people actually get into 'the shoe' for any length of time. most are in general.

supermax is a misnomer. in cali, we got drug abusers in max security prisons. supermax ain't that bad. heck they still manage to smuggle in drugs, weapons and alcohol. they even have gangs.

That's not really punishment then, but I agree in principal. They should be corrected... but I beleive those that cannot be rehabilitated or corrected - there's only one way to correct that shit. Death. Dahmer was one of them.
too bad it's mental illness

One could argue there is something mentally wrong with anyone who kills another with premeditation - or any other host of crimes...

So only the ones that have the most severe mental issues - and therefore commit the most severe crimes should be able to way the mental flag... I think not. Unless you're a complete babling retard...

I have done extensive research on Gotti and the bad thing about him as a Costra Nostra Boss is that he had a rule book in which to adhere by.. The rule of the Italian mob is Capesh which means secret. Gotti was a media freak and enjoyed the spotlight. He went against ever rule of the old mob and forced the Government to come after him. He owned the Ravenite Social Club in NY and ever Friday night required all of his Captains and Bosses to attend meetings. The FBI learned more about the mob in 2 years under Gottis rule than the 58 years since Carlo Gambino was boss. Gotti was a street level thug that had no business being over the most powerful family in america. He took leadership of the mob on December 17 1985 after he had his henchmen assasinate Big Paul Castellano in front of Sparks Steak house. He was boss until Feb 1992 until he was sentenced to life in prison at Marion. Gotti is the reason the mob failed. He made his son John Jr. acting boss in June 1992 after he was sentenced and the Government quickly ended his throne with a 1998 conviction of murder for hire and several other violations. He was released from prison in 2003 however 2 months after his release he was arrested on a murder for hire warrant in which he gave the orders to kill a member of the NY post for slandering his father. He is now free on 10 million bond and has endured two trials that have ended in hung jurys. He is being tried again this summer.
