I am asking the AAS forums for a reason of course lol. I am just curios how many of my fellow juicers live spiritually or not and what everyone's thoughts on the matter is. And feel free to speak your mind 100% here in this thread I will allow it on the subject and in this thread only. Lets discuss. :rose:

Im a big man of FAITH!!! God is real and helps his children. Not gonna preach am no saint but I know where my heart and life stands.

I grew up in chruch as a kid my Gramdpa was a very very powerful man he was a pastor r.i.p. to him miss him so much! My Dad also who has played guitar for 46 years was in Christian bands thru out time.

I cant count the times God has saved me, and helped me!

Just a couple of testimonies:

Bro had a xl tumor said he prob wounldnt walk, talk, may be pairalized completely on left side, be deaf in one ear, may not no who anyone is and would be in ICU for 8 weeks or longer and would take 6-12 months to gain control on walking, talking, .... If he could....

My bro walked out in 4 days 16 hour surgery.

He only lost hearing in one ear! Walks, talks, everything. The POWER of GOD!

Im loosing my hearing had vertigo it was getting real bad and God has helped me with that and still is in the process.

I believe that theres a higher power and I feel there is life after death, but death is apart of our nature and people shouldn't frighten it but rather accept it and be happy, but it's a hard thing to do especially if you've lost someone close to you. I never really went to church besides funerals, but life goes on.

I am very religious and have been a devout Catholic my entire life... I go to Church every weekend and read the bible and talk to God and Jesus daily... It is a very big part of my life... God has brought me through many tough challenges and blessed me to be a better man through it all... Ive been blessed with many chances after many mistakes and am trying to utilize the gifts i was given... I try to give back as much as possible to rectify my selfishness in previous years... I make mistakes but consciously see it and try my best to fix it and become a better man from it... I am very blessed as we all are and i owe it all to God...

Great topic needto! I am a devout Pentecostal born and raised. God has brought me through tough times and blessed me to be where I am today. I continually rely on his blessing and support in my life, especially in my business as he provides all I need.

I would love to hear what other members have to say.

No doubt in my mind that god is alive and sent his only son to save us from our sins.

I find it very saddening that people don't believe.

I don't believe in God and never will, I was raised by a religious family to believe in God, however life experience and my meticulous logical nature has drawn me over the years to believe in evolution, I have nothing against believers, except I find it very frustrating that a large percentage of them seem to feel its acceptable to push their beliefs on others which I don't agree with and have increasingly little patience for.... IMO we should respect each others beliefs and get on with living our lives as we choose....

I just wanted to share this with all of you, brought this home to my husband on a day he had few personal things going on and it really turned his thoughts around when I read it out loud to him...

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered...
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives...
Be kind anyway

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies...
Succeed anyway

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you...
Be honest & sincere anyway

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight...
Create anyway

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous...
Be happy anyway

The good you do today, will ofter be forgotten...
Do good anyway

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough...
Give your best anyway

In the final analysis, it is between you and God...
It was never between you and them anyway!

-Mother Teresa

Just wanted to share...it helped him get through some things today.

I grew up in a Christian home going to church. My grandpal was the preacher However, once I went to college something in changed. I just found it hard to believe. I wanted to believe but just couldn't. For a long time I still went to church and claimed to believe then I claimed to be agnostic. Eventually my crotch got tired of riding the fence, so Im an atheist.

However, now being almost 39 and raising two small children by myself I've been thinking of going back to church so that my kids will have the option of believing. I do believe religion served a purpose in my life. I am more moral than many who claim to be Christians.

I believe that there is a "higher power" or a "god" or whatever you'd like to call it out there but I don't believe what the religion says.
There are so many religions you just don't know who speaks the truth. From my point of view religios were made by people to keep other people under control so that they don't do bad things but they still do it anyways. I don't need to pray to a "god" to make me feel better. I'm perfectly fine being an ahteist. I like to watch Ancient Aliens on History Channel :)

I am a Christian and a strong believer. My life is a testimony to the grace of god. I go out of my way to make sure and NEVER be judgemental, and I'm very rarely 'preachy'. If someone asks ill share, otherwise I respect them enough not to try and push my beliefs on them. I try to live my life with love and selflessness. Many times I fail at this as I am by no means perfect.
I find many people do more harm then good with their approach to sharing their faith with others. While im sure most of them mean well, it really pushes most people away and hurts Christianity as a whole. Serve others with love in your heart - that is what Jesus did

As I type this I am running tad late. Gotta grab my guitar and get going. I'm a worship leader at our church. For those of you who don't know, some churches have become very progressive with their modern music and media. Out band is more like a rock band. I have a lot of fun in church.

I was raised in a Christian family and when to schools where the teachers, principles were members of a religious community but I'm not a religious person.. I believe in God but I don't believe the majority of stuff that is thought in religion.. I consider myself a man of science and I believe there is a logical explanation for everything.. hopefully my opinion does not offend anyone :-)

I was raised Catholic...I am raising my children Catholic, But...I do not believe in the Catholic church. I don't like what they are about nor can I stand to swallow their self righteous bullshit. any organization that sweeps pedophiles under the rug does not have a place in my heart. HOWEVER! I do believe in God and that there is a higher power. just my .02

If God made man, he made man with scientific curiosity and and stubbornness to search for the truth and always dig deeper for better understanding. If man were not like that, we would still be cave people with no scientific accomplishment. Science is all about not believing something until it is proven.

So, if God made man, I would expect that God would not care if you believed in him. In fact, it would make sense that God would not want you to believe in him, or anything else that requires faith instead of proof.

My stand is that there is a lot about reality we don't know, and there may be a God, but I could never be convinced to believe in any theory about God without proof. That makes me agnostic I guess.

It is beyond my comprehension that so many people go to Church and pray to something they simply believe, but have never been shown. However, I see that religion for many people comes from the best part of them, so I try not to be one of those people who criticize or judge religious people. It is a very personal choice for a lot of people, so I try to respect that.

A topic just asking for antagonism because it's such a fundemental belief.

But okay, I'll play.

I went to catholic school and by age 9 I could not understand why I had to have faith in the words of a primitive civilization from 2000 years ago.

I also will never understand how african americans can be devout christians when that is the belief of their captures. I just don't get it.

I aslo don't get when people say PROVE there is no god. Well, you cannot disprove what does not exist. I cannot PROVE that there are no unicorns. It's a flawed line of thinking. Proof is in the claim.

Bottom line -- give me some evidence. There isn't one shred of evidence that god exists or does anything. If that doesn't matter , no amount of logic or reasoning will change your mind.

I don't have the answers. No one does. Claiming so doesn't make it so. Everything else is a lie. Or delusion.

@Mrsmuscleaddiction: Thanks for sharing this snippet of Mother Teresa, God Bless her soul.

This is a very deep choice of discussion NeedTo, and only a brave open-thinking moderator would suggest such a topic for discussion on a forum like ours.

As my Avatar shows, I'm in the UK, England. I was brought up and Baptised in the Church of England, who are Anglican Trinitarian Christians. I have a strong and firm belief in Jesus Christ, The Father, and the Holy Spirit. Academically speaking, I am a scientist, and studied nutritional science at university. This makes me a bit of a contradiction or parody I suppose, because scientists, as headholio suggests, believe in and seek the truth. However, from a scientific perspective I donnot believe in Creationism per se: as in God created the world in six days. Nevertheless, I do believe God did create the world; the universe; and everything in it.

My opinion is that there is a hereafter and "living" in this world is just part of a journey from the womb to heaven.

Religion can and is abused, and history proves religion is responsible, at least in part, for the some of the world's worsed atrocities. Having said that, it is a person or persons views and use of religion to influence thinking or events, and not the religion itself, or its message (|Christianity in this case) that causes such horror.

Today we see Christianity being threatened in the West for progressive, liberalist values, whereby the rights of the individual trump the rights of community and society. I believe though, that whether you're an athiest, agnostic, or a Christian, that most people would agree that the values that have helped us live mostly in peace and freedom, are values moulded from the core teachings of The New Testament and Jesus's message of peace and love for thy neighbour and our enemies. I fear though, that we may be heading for a new dark age where these very values and traditions are ditched under the banner of progress and modernity.

So one must believe in Jesus to be a good person?

To believe in the things you can see and touch is no belief at all; but to believe in the unseen is a triumph and a blessing.

Just thought I would chime in with a couple of thought provoking lines.

You don't have to look too far to find God's glory. Just look at a sunset, look at the sky and the clouds, at crashing waves and the ripples that are created, that in one moment are formed as a work of art and never again will be formed exactly the same again. Better yet, look at our bodies, we cut ourselved and our bodies heal themselves alone, we break down our muscles and they regenerate on their own , our powerful minds, the intellect we are given or are able to gain and attain.

Do you really believe that all of these wonderful things ... Just happened out of nowhere? You are a miracle in itself.

I believe there is a creator behind everything.. WE are created in God's image, he has given us authority and a power and every single one of us has this power and our own set of gifts to serve the world with and to be used for His glory. We were made to be warriors for Him. All we have to do is acces this power with belief and faith.

Nothing cannot create something, we didn't just happen, nor come from a "big bang".

I sincerely believe God created us and sent His Son Jesus to die for us as the ultimate sacrifice. It is said ' there is no bigger sacrifice, than he who is willing to lay down his life for his brother.

Anyway, just wanted to share what was put on my heart. I can tell you this though, it's not about religion nor
Christianity, catholoicism, buddism or any other religion for that matter. Forget that!! All that matters is to have a personal relationship with your creator, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. A relationship built on Faith and trust.

You cannnot believe without faith. Faith is believing in what you don't see. We believe in many things we don't see already, like radio waves, micro waves, wind, gravity etc... Why not have a little faith on Him who has been saving us from the day we set foot on this earth , not just the day we acknowledge Him.

Sorry for the rant .... And needtoo, I appreciate the opportunity you created to share on such an important and beautiful subject. !!

See...here we go.

You say the universe couldn't be created out of nothing but what created the creator? There is no beginning from which to gauge, so it's a pointless point.

As for comparing faith to radio waves, wind and gravity -- they are not faith based my friend. They are scientifically proven laws.

Sorry guys, you can all believe in whatever you want but this is my problem with some religious people. They think they have patent on virtue.

Meanwhile, my son was raised atheist and he's one of the most loving, giving, kindest people you'll ever meet. Meanwhile Osama Bin Ladin was VERY religious. So don't try and shove that shit down my throat and hide behind the rightiousness of it all. I find it offensive.

I am devout Nichiren Buddhist. We believe that life, the energy within everything, is what christians and others refer to as god. In our payer, which consists of chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, we are not looking outside ourselves for answers or assistance, rather we are determining to bring the infinite potential of the universe out of ourselves. We also believe that prayers without action aren't even prayers, so needless to say, we get busy.

Aliens made us to be their slaves! we revolted and won our freedom...hasen't anyone ever seen Stargate or watched Ancient aliens!!..no but seriously...religon was created for a way to control the weak minded and those that needed to beleive that we came from somewhere or something...without beliefs we would be a lost race...so believe what you want...God or no God...I don't care and no one can make me change my mind :)

Sounds lame and too simple, but doing good for others will come back you you. Also, being an ahole and taking advantage of others will definitely come back to you - no matter how small you think it is. It is easy in this world to take advantage of others - both in business and day to day life. I have seen others in business be unethical and sooner or later, something happens "inexplicably" that is negative and that persons gains from being an ahole do not override the negatives.

Like your mama always says - "do one to others and you would want done to you"

I don't believe in God and never will, I was raised by a religious family to believe in God, however life experience and my meticulous logical nature has drawn me over the years to believe in evolution, I have nothing against believers, except I find it very frustrating that a large percentage of them seem to feel its acceptable to push their beliefs on others which I don't agree with and have increasingly little patience for.... IMO we should respect each others beliefs and get on with living our lives as we choose....

Why cant evolution and a higher power/meaning coexists my friend? I my self do not disagree with evolution however I do not believe that any prof of it disproves anything else in my heart. Would you not agree?

Honestly, I believe we are in hell. There is no way stuff like Cancer, death at a young age, mental illnesses etc....this would not happen in a normal life. I don't think this should happen...school shootings...I think that the afterlife (if there is one) will be full of great events and not this shit the world is going through right now.

About Jesus, I believe in him simply because I feel we have to believe in something and Jesus for me is a great person to believe in.

True. But the religions do not acknowledge evolution. (Because they didn't know about it. Of course if "god" is all knowing he would have mentioned it. Whatever).

I do believe there is another dimension beyond our own that we can't comprehend. I guess my point is -- what good is god? What does he do? If he answered prayers no planes would ever crash. He seems pretty unengaged.

Anyone ever see the Star Trek where they meet aApollo? lol Brilliant.

Love and morality have nothing to do with religion or the belief in Jesus. If that's what works for you, then that's great. If you want to believe Leprechauns want you to be nice and you're nice because of it, that's terrific too. Problem is, people use the almighty to justify whatever they want. And therein lies the problem.

I believe in god and Jesus Christ. My faith has no doubt "faded" over the years due to doubt and anger of people lost, people who's life's we're cut short, people who didn't deserve the bad hand they were delt. Everyday I try to find my way back. It's hard for me being so scorned. One day I know I will sit in church and hopefully sort my issues out with my faith.
All in all, do I believe, YES, do I love Jesus, YES, is my faith as strong as it should be for a young man raised a devoted catholic, no def not, but like I said, me and god will sort that out one day when I am ready.
We all have our demons.

I love reading about physics. Physicists know, now more than ever, that the universe is simply not they way we have always perceived it. Time is not constant, and empty space has a shape. There are quantum phenomena that we simply can not explain, and go against common sense.
Physicists of the past always believed in concrete rules of matter and energy, but more and more, the concept of consciousness is discussed, not by philosophers, but by physicists.

It seems that consciousness is part of the stuff that the universe is made from.
That is an incredibly exciting concept to me, and is demonstrable in the physics lab.
The results of simple experiments change depending on whether we look or don't look at them. Its mind blowing.

There is so much we don't understand. God may be a part of the ultimate truth, but even if there is a God, the understanding of what that means is currently beyond our grasp (IMO).

It is tempting to use God to explain things we don't understand. We used to say the sun came up in the morning because God did it. Now we have non-miraculous explanations for so many things that have been attributed to God.

For me, I just say I don't know. Humanity has not figured out the truth. I am comfortable with not knowing.

Catholic here and believe in God, sometimes I find my faith lacking but always come back to him. The evolution thing kinda makes sense to me but how did it all start you know? There has to be some form of a higher power. Has too...

sgi-usa.org is a great "get to know" site. A great intro book, with a forward by Herbie Hancock, is called The Buddha in Your Mirror. Brilliant stuff, very well written.

I'm glad to share with you, and anyone else interested. As is taught;

Ha! Give me credit? No credit to give. I guess my point is, there are good people and there are bad people and it has nothing to do with a higher power. Since there is proof of a higher power I just don't see the sense in believing it. My only issue with those who feel they have a hand up on morality because of it. I had a friend tell me I would not be accepted in heaven unless I believ in Jesus. I told him, what about all the people who were taught to believ a different savior? Are they all condemned to hell? His answer -- "yes."

That's the shit that drives me a little nuts.

Also, I was abused by the nuns and priests in catholic school so I have a special kind of hatred for them. Sorry for the rant. We are what we've experienced.

1 Peter 5:7

Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

That's ego. It's nice to think that a father figure is looking after you because you're special. It'
s like when something good happens, people say "THANK GOD!" Ego.

At this very moment someone is suffering, someone is being raped, someone is starving, someone is being tortured, someone is watching their child die. Where is god for them? Do they deserve it? God helps some athlete get the scoring run and lets these atrocities happen? Then he isn't very kind or very fair or very smart.

are you in here to argue with everyone? Do you see anyone else bashing you for not having faith?

Good bro said he was struggling in certain aspects of his faith and I posted up an encouraging scripture (IMO)

Get a life bro...

I don't get why people are arguing in here. It's everyone's opinion. Who cares what people disagree with..it's your belief

Exactly what I said mate! The bible is the explanation to everything, it's just misinterpreted by people. If you change some words to the right words it all makes sense. God -> Aliens!
Of course those poor bastards thousands of years ago couldn't properly describe what they were seeing. An alien spaceship descended from the sky and they didn't even know wtf was that so they described it as angels and spiritual, magical things. Magic on earth does not exist! Only Technology does!
I believe that aliens genetically created us. The way our technology is evolving we could do the same one day. We could go to a planet and create some creatures and let them live there... then we could be "gods" too. And of course we would make them stupid and leave them to evolve for themselves but tell them that one day we'll be back...

I have a life thanks. Get a brain. I wasn't arguing -- unless you call stating facts and presenting logic as arguing.

Bottom line -- it's fine to believe whatever you want. I have lots of friends who are people of faith. I have no issue with that. My only point is when it's equated with being a "better person." That's it. Over and out. Deal with it. Peace.

where in my post that you quoted did I say anything about anyone being a "better" person...

oh..i didn't. Thanks.

The Aztecs believed the sun god would come and bring them all eternal happiness. Then the Spaniards came and wiped them out.

You're cherry picking. What about all the horrible things like cancer and starvation, rape etc?

I have to agree with nelson on this one. I as a lot of you was brought up in a religous family. I could never understand why since my family is 75% african american and 25% native american. Why believe in something the people who in salved and tortured you do?.... anyway, the biggest reason i find it hard to believe is i've seen some horrible things that happens on this planet because of my job. A lot of those people use religon as a crutch to do what they do. not to mention natural disasters and illnesses. You don't need a higher power to make you a nice and peaceful person. Just go about your life loving everyone and smiling at people. A good smile can go along way to someone.

You're cherry picking. What about all the horrible things like cancer and starvation, rape etc?

14What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?” But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this? Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

Romans:9 14-21

In other words, yes, horrible things do happen to good people and innocent kids, but who are we the created to question the Creator and His will? Sometimes bad things happen and we are faced with a choice of giving the circumstance meaning. It's not what happens to us but the meaning we give it that matters. Some people go through horrible things and choose to be depressed and commit suicide, a other person might go through the same or similar experience and choose to be empowered and use that situation to help and comfort other people that might go through it in the future. At that point God would be using something horrible that happened in someones life and using it for the good and for His honor and Glory.

Just respectuflly responding to your reply with my personal belief and opinion. To each their own.

..................
God gave me a MIND and I question it. AGain, I find it offensive when people say that if someone suffers they deserve it because it's what god wants. Yet, he lets people get away with murder because he loves them. THAT shit pisses me off.

When god flooded the earth he killed children because they're parents didn't believe in him. Sounds a bit spiteful, insecure and sociopathic. Not all all worthy of someone to worship. But to each his own.

I believe in something, some higher power, but not the "god" that is taught in any church or religious commune, or spoke about in any religious text

The proof that there is a "God" or a sort of "Creator" is evident everywhere we look. God created physics, time, space, the universe, energy, DNA, life, evolution, life cycles and every atom that composes all of it, along with every particle and dimension. He created so much wonder that we are just now beginning to truly understand the very atoms that we have been made out of our whole lives and even alternate dimensions are mathematically possible... It may take us another 300 years and 10 generations to unravel the mathematics that will explain the wonders in our own universe. That is as much as I know about God - I don't subscribe or believe God will be found in any book or story written by men, those stories have only served to explain "existence" to the masses, back when humanity was very young we didn't yet make Particle Accelerators and other cool gadgets that would help us truly discover God in every particle of our being.

That all being said, my faith and part of feeling God in my heart has more to do with the feeling and results I get from helping others. My own religiousness and faith is completely centered around my striving to be a good Brother, one who truly cares about others and tries to create opportunities for all I meet. My Brother's keeper!
It has worked out for me my entire life and continues to open doors every day, not just logical cause-and-effect stuff, but really "Hand of God" type of results where I can see direct results and "rewards" from the good deeds I put out into the world. Foes become vanquished before the first sword is raised, the seas part in front of me and dry land marks my path - even at my worse times of doubt and despair where others may question their faith and feel abandoned, I find I always learn something new from the experience and then again God reaches down and pulls me out of there once my lesson is engraved in me for life. What I thought to have been the worst times of my life, have actually taught me all of the important things I needed to know to make my coming days and years better.

I just feel God in my heart and Thank him every single day for making me who I am. I look, talk and walk just the way God intended me to, and I love being who I am every day and I'm Thnakful to God he built me to be the man who's words carry weight among his peers. My life is just perfect and has always been just right, for a long time I doubted God and didn't quite follow his plan for me, but years heave taught me to just wake up every day ready to work harder for a better tomorrow, and God will just take care of every obstacle and danger along the road, and if despair does cross my way, that I'm being taught a good lesson and being Forged to be stronger like steel needs to be in the high heat to get stronger.

I don't really have a religion and I don't really practice any ritualized communications with God, I don't really follow any of the religious calendars. I do get on my knees and pray when I need to give thanks for my blessings, but I found my best way to praise God is to continue to be my Brother's keeper and continue to be a key person in the lives of all those that know me. In my professional as in my personal life I strive to be the best and uplift others, have respect for others empathy for them and their plights, their well being and their family's. Everything will just work out fine in my life as long and I'm good others and work hard every single day.

Yes there is an afterlife, and we do look back at momentary pain and suffering as a short experience that was just a blink in eternity. For those who think God doesn't exist because some people suffer pain and others die young, you must think of that pain as just a moment in time that becomes irrelevant when compared to eternity. If a person dies a painful death, the pain will not carry on in eternity, it stays here in this world and becomes a tiny memory of a really short part of the life of our Eternal Soul... In the end, judgement day will be ourselves looking back at our lives and having to justify how we lived it and what we did with our time. Will we complain about the chances we didn't have, or will we brag to eternity of the great things we accomplished with a humble start? - Will we look back an hold a grudge against the people who came along and hurt us, or will we shine bright in the memory of all those we went out of our way to help? - The real judgment day starts today, cause you won't get today back and that may be your burden to carry for eternity, wasting this life on indulgence and greed, when you could have spent it in devotion and charity.

I'm with that.

Man of Science here.

Grew up Catholic but as a teenager stopped believing in that or any other organized religion. Nowadays I would describe myself as "spiritual" and I try to find a meaning in what I do but definitely do not believe in God as a person.

Fair enough. Die hard atheist here. I
can't believe how stupid people are to believe in God. You're all sheep. The good news is that we are winning. Christian enrollment is down and the number of atheists is growing every day. Use your head!

Extremely well said my brother..

If I believe in a god who created everything (which I surely do), then I dang sure don't believe I am smarter than him. Or, that he can be "proven" to exist or not exist. It is beyond human comprehension. You can't be 'saved' by knowledge. Because in doing so it would defeat the whole purpose of what faith is. If god was proved to be real i'd probably lose faith. Because that would mean the almighty omnipotent god that i worship can be figured out by man and our primative brains? The bible says all mans knowledge is foolishness to God. I believe that to be true, which is why I don't feel the need to prove anything one way or another.

That is what I believe. I am not forcing or even asking anyone to believe the same thing. I would never call anyone 'stupid' for what they choose to believe, like our immature friend a few posts above.

I do appreciate the thread need2. And also the way the EF brethren have responded. Which for the most part has been honest and respectful. I have seen comments from all sides of the aisle. No need to attack each other.

Blessings to you my bros - all colors and all religions, I have love for you all.

Before I start just want to make it clear: the same God Jewish and Christian believe in is the same God what Muslims believe, however in English you can say God, Lord, Elohim... etc but in Arabic God has 99 names and the must popular name is Allah or Allaah.

Finding out about Allaah is in tune with the sound fitrah (natural inclinations of man) and with sound reasoning. How many there are who, once the truth becomes clear to them, they hasten to submit to Allaah (enter Islam). If each one of us was to do his duty towards his religion, a great deal of good would be achieved. So we congratulate you, our brother, for undertaking the mission of the Prophets and Messengers, and we give you the glad tidings of the great reward which you are promised, as your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If Allaah were to guide one man at your hands, that would be better for you than red camels.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3/134; Muslim, 4/1872). “Red camels” are the best kind of camels.

Secondly:

With regard to proof of the existence of Allaah, it is obvious to anyone who ponders the matter, and there is no need for a lengthy discussion. When we ponder the matter, we find that it is divided into three categories: instinctive evidence, tangible evidence and shar’i (revelatory) evidence. We will explain that to you further, in sha Allaah.

1 – Instinctive evidence:

The instinctive evidence that God exists is the strongest of all evidence for those who are not led astray by the devils. Hence Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion (of pure Islamic Monotheism) Haneef (worship none but Allaah Alone). Allaah’s Fitrah (i.e. Allaah’s Islamic Monotheism) with which He has created mankind” [al-Room 30:30]

Man’s sound nature (fitrah) testifies to the existence of God and man cannot turn away from that unless the devils mislead him; whoever is misled by the devils may not recognize this evidence.”

Every person feels inside himself that he has a Lord and Creator, and he feels that he is in need of Him; if some major calamity befalls him he turns his hands, eyes and heart towards the heavens, seeking help from his Lord.

2 – Tangible evidence:

This refers to the things that exist in this universe; we see around us things that exist, such as trees, rocks, mankind, the earth, the heavens, seas, rivers…

If it is asked: these things are so many – who created them and is taking care of them?

The answer is that if these things came into being by accident, spontaneously and with no cause, then there is no one who knows how they were created, and that is one possibility. But there is another possibility, which is that these things created themselves and are taking care of themselves. And there is a third possibility, which is that there is Someone Who created them. When we look at these three possibilities, we find that the first and the second are impossible. If we reject the first and the second, then the third must be the one which is correct, which is that these things have a Creator Who created them, and that Creator is Allaah. This is what is stated in the Qur’aan, where Allaah says (what means):

“Were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief” [al-Toor 52:35]

Moreover, when were these mighty things created? For all these years, who is it that has decreed that they should remain in this world and has granted them the means of abiding?

The answer is, it is Allaah who has given to each thing that which is suited to it and will guarantee its survival. Do you not see the beautiful green plants; when Allaah cuts off their water supply, can they live? No, rather they become dry stalks. If you ponder all things you will find that they are dependent upon Allaah. Were it not for Allaah, nothing would remain.

And Allaah has created everything to do that for which it is suited. So camels, for example, are for riding. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Do they not see that We have created for them of what Our Hands have created, the cattle, so that they are their owners.

And We have subdued them unto them so that some of them they have for riding and some they eat” [Yaa-Seen 36:71-72]

Look at the camel and how Allaah has created it strong, with a strong back, so that it can be used for riding and it is able to endure harsh conditions which other animals cannot bear.

If you look at other creatures you will find that they are suited to the purposes for which they were created. Glory be to Allaah.

Examples of tangible evidence include the following:

When calamities befall people this points to the existence of the Creator, for example, when they call upon Allaah and Allaah responds to their prayer; this points to the existence of Allaah. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said: “When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed for rain, he said, ‘Allaahumma aghithnaa, Allaahumma aghithnaa (O Allaah, send us rain, O Allaah, send us rain).’ Then a cloud came and it started to rain before he had even come down from the minbar (pulpit). This points to the existence of the Creator.”

3 – Shar’i evidence:

All divinely-revealed laws point to existence of Allaah:

“All the divinely-revealed laws point to the existence of the Creator and to the perfect nature of His knowledge, wisdom and mercy, because these laws must have been prescribed by someone, and that Lawgiver is Allaah.”

With regard to your question: why did Allaah create us?

The answer is: so that we would worship Him, thank Him and remember Him, and do that which He has commanded us. You know that among mankind there are disbelievers and there are Muslims. This is because Allaah wants to test His slaves as to whether they will worship Him or worship others. That is after Allaah has showed the way to everyone. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed” [al-Mulk 67:2]

“And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:56]

However about One of the basic principles of Islam is to believe in the wisdom of the Lord in what He creates and commands, and in what He wills and decrees, in the sense that He does not create anything in vain and He does not decree anything in which there is not some benefit for His slaves. So everything that exists is His will and decree. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah is the Creator of all things” [al-Ra’d 13:16]

His perfect wisdom decrees that He creates opposites, so He has created angels and devils, night and day, purity and impurity, good and ugly, and He has created good and evil. He created His slaves with differences in their bodies and minds, and in their strengths. He has made some rich and some poor, some healthy and some sickly, some wise and some foolish. By His wisdom, He tests them, and He tests some by means of others, to show who will be grateful and who will be ungrateful. Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings):

“Verily, We have created man from Nutfah (drops) of mixed semen (sexual discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer and seer.

Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful” [al-Insaan 76:2]

“Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed”

[al-Mulk 67:2]

When the sound believer sees disabled people, he recognizes the blessing that Allaah has bestowed upon him, so he gives thanks for His blessing, and He asks Him for good health. He knows that Allaah is Able to do all things.

People are incapable of comprehending Allaah’s wisdom. He cannot be questioned as to what He does , while they will be questioned. Glorified and exalted be He. Whatever you understand of His wisdom, believe in it, and whatever you cannot understand, say, “Allaah knows best and is most wise, and we know nothing except that which You have taught us, and He is the All-Knowing, Most Wise.”

Thank you all for taking the time reading

I can completely understand your anger than bro.

Ya lets not do the whole arguing and or directing statements at each other. If you have done this already in this thread fine lets move on from it and from here on keep that kind of thing out of it. This is discussion about " your thoughts on the subject only" not your thoughts about people and others thoughts.. So lets keep it to that please and thank you.

Good lookin out bro. Ill find my way back. Some things are easier solved than others, and Rome wasn't built in a day. I'd say some soul searching is in order lol.

Nelson- bro usually you are a well spoken guy who makes a lot of sense... Your opinion is your opinion but you've gone further to sound like a ass in this thread. There's a thin line between speaking your mind and plain out bashing or mocking someone's faith, my friend, you've crossed that line. No harm done here, I'm jus sayin, no matter what anyone says positively about their faith, you have a negative to add to it. Not cool bro. Live and let live. U know better. We got the point after your 3rd post... If we can respect u not having faith, respect those that do and let them speak their thought as u did yours... Repetitively.

That's where you're dead wrong bro.

This is the thing...

I said right form the start, this is a very fundamental belief -- one where people will admittedly ignore logic, because it depends on faith. I would have let it go long ago but milplank get riding me and, well, I'm not one to back down.

Now I have my belief and you have yours. But because I do not acknowledge what you believe you see it as "bashing". Of course... because it means a lot to you and I'm saying it doesn't exist. (Because there's no evidence of it existing.)

So you see bro -- it's one of those things where if someone doesn't agree with you, they don't just have a different opinion -- they're dismissing your very belief. Anyone disagreeing is the antagonist.

So just as you're asking me to respect your right to believe, I will ask you to respect my right not to believe.

Actually, the topic has no place here at all. But here we are.

re read your rants back and forth with plank bud... you most certainly did bash and mock... like i said no harm done to me personally.. i just think your wrong for it... takes more than a few harsh words to hurt my feelings. :D

on the other hand i give you credit... takes a lot of balls to speak whats in your mind and heart as far as faith is concerned in a room full of people with some sort of faith/religion.. all i ask is that you respect the people who do have faith... its just common respect and a very touchy subject. i think u know that already.

I agree 100%... Nelson you are acting like everyone is pointing fingers at you and trying to make you look dumb. That's not at all what this is about... if you want people to respect your opinion, show some respect to theirs.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the whole religion thing... but I respect people's opinions, and I think it's incredibly unfair to mock someones beliefs that they have lived their life based on.

Many people have stated opinions from both sides. You are the only one quoting people and picking apart their statements and beliefs. Believe what you choose - just afford others the right to do the same without telling them they are wrong.

Well, what can I say other than I think you're wrong -- not in your belief, but in the accusation.

NEVER ONCE DID I MOCK OR SAY ANYONE SHOULDN'T BELIEVE OR SHOULD BELIEVE AS I DO.

But that is exactly what a lot of religious people do. And that was my point.

And I repeat, I was beaten as a child by nuns and priests so when someone tells me I must accept Jesus as my savior I got a problem with that and I will say so.

I just want to be happy and do good and want others in my circle to do the same.

I hope I made myself clear.

Atheists want to be rational about everything except rationality itself – they want to bind them and us (actually really just us) to a philosophical system with no foundation that essentially denies the existence of humanity itself. But that water man will never get out of the ocean on his water ladder, and it takes a mind independent of the physical world to truly understand it.
I have have grown up Catholic and have been my entire life.. Being a woman and watching a baby grow inside me is far from just "science"!!
It's GOD!... I feel sorry for you and it always goes back to the parents because what u never were taught you just don't get it.. u werent built with that foundation...and as a grown man u struggle to believe whats real and what's not! As successful as you may be, you lack so much!
An ATHIEST DOES believe cause they say they don't believe in God.. Just by saying that they acknowledge he exists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need I say more !?
How do you deny something you say doesn't exist?????????????

Well, THAT wasn't too condescending.

And thanks for putting words in my mouth.

Wait a minute...by someone saying they don't believe there's a god it proves that he exists? You lost me.

Because others insist that it does so if your atheist you don't believe in a god. People get really worked up about religion or non-religion

Believing in God is a matter of faith!! And faith is a Gift which is given by God and received only by those who's spirit is open to receive it!!!!! Hopefully u get what I'm saying and aren't lost anymore!!!!

One thing that is important for all of us to remember is that God blessed man with the gift of free will and he does not step in on this boundary... We are all free to make our own decisions and choices... We can be guided and taught but its up to each individual to make his OWN choice... I feel you would be hard pressed to find anyone with more faith than I have HOWEVER, I cannot stand when others push it on to others either... Its one thing to help to educate, especially when one asks for help or guidance... Its our duty to do that but ITS NOT our duty to push others... I know that anytime anyone ever pushes anything on me then I do the complete opposite just despite them and I am sure there are many others that do the same... I very much disagree with Nelson's beliefs HOWEVER, he is still my friend, I still respect him and I am not going to say anything bad to him or about him unless he says it about me... He is entitled to his own opinions and thoughts... It doesn't mean I or anyone else who disagrees has to follow suit... Remember, free will... Free will to do and make your own choices and decisions... All we can do is help and love one another... We were all given talents and abilities and we need to utilize them to the fullest... Be kind and helpful and good things will come.. You are not supposed to judge others... Remember that... If you want to be forgiven then you have to forgive... If you don't want to be judged then you must not judge... These are all important to remember... We can all discuss this and give opinions and thoughts and still believe what we all will... Hopefully some can learn a thing or two along the way but the hateful comments need to stop... That's not what this is for... You can give an honest opinion without talking shit... Plain and simple... That goes for everyone on both sides... I am of the strongest faith but I also know that we are taught to love one another and that one that is lost will be found... Keep all these things in mind and for fucks sake, love one another... =)

Okay that's fair. You can believe what you want and I can believe what I want. But I'm lost. Gotcha.

exactly we live in a secular country where anyone is free to worship or not worship as they choose. thats why we love it.

Most people can look at something of high complexity and design like a computer or an automobile and understand that there was a Designer or Creator behind its existence. I look at nature and our bodies and see 10x the complexity. To look at such a complex design and then deny the existence of a Designer is a stretch (to be polite).

I for one choose to believe that my Ford truck was created by a Big Bang and evolution. I refuse to believe that any designer or engineer was involved.

id love to hear ppls answer to wat nelson mentioned earlier,if god made everythin then who or wat made god an if thers a thing or sum1 who made them an how did it all begin plus ur faith does take a lil bashing wen things like priests sexually abusing children which recently came to light a lot in uk so if god does exist why dis he let this happen?or does god not hav a roll after creation?
