So after being so injury prone these past few weeks I decided to not go heavy with legs yesterday. My ham was still tight and after re injuring my shoulder I wasn't going to test it
My leg workout was great. Despite the low weight...it was very intense! I got the leg press workout from bodybuilder Erick Fankhouser but I modified it a bit. Its very tough but a nice twist to your leg workouts maybe once a month!
So the general idea is to start with a plate on each side of the sled for ten reps. U then add another to make it two plates on each side for twenty. Next set u add another to make it three plates a side for thirty and u keep increasing plates each set and increasing reps as well...4x40, 5x50, 6x60, etc. The ultimate goal is to get to 10x100. Its pretty much unattainable but something to shoot for! U only have 1 min max rest between sets. The burn is sick! So here we go!
Exercise1 leg press
1-45 each sidex10
2-45 each sidex20
3-45 each sidex30
4-45 each sidex40
5-45 each sidex50
6-45 each sidex60
I still had more left so I did it again but started at the top with 6-60 and worked down to 1-10
Exercise2 leg extension
Set1
55x10
70x10
85x10
100x10
115x10
130x10
145x10
160x10
Set2
160x10
145x10
130x10
115x10
100x10
85x10
70x10
55x10
Exercise3 iso hammer strength leg curl
25-each sidex50
25-each sidex50
25-each sidex40
25-each sifex40
It took a while to do the workout because of all the reps but it was truely intense. I could barely walk afterwards. My legs felt like they were gonna pop! And just to let u know ...on the leg extensions each set was done without stopping from 55-160 and then from 160-55. If u ever want a change to your leg routine...try it out!
