Jcm's road to the 2013 npc Southern Classic!

Fuck this is getting frustrating!! I had an awesome chest workout today until my peck strained on me. Again...nothing too major. Just enough to end my workout. I have been feeling so strong and that is my Achilles heel. I keep wanting to go harder and harder because my muscles are telling me I can. So anyways...to the workout

Exercise1 db flat bench
65sx50
80sx30
100sx20
120sx20
140sx15
150sx10

Exercise2
145x20
195x12
235x10
285x10
325x12

That is it. On my 12th rep of 325 I felt a tweek and a burn and I had to rack it. I am about 95% sure it isn't a tear but def a strain. Everything is super tight. Its near the tie in of my peck and biceps to my delt. I felt soooo good today and these minor injuries are driving me absolutely crazy! More anti inflammatories, ice, and relaxation. Probably won't shorlder press for the second week in a row! We will see how my ham feels tomorrow. Being this prone to injury I def need to keep it easy tomorrow.

Dont let it get u down Blake. Shit happens. Just do what u got to to rehab it and get back to normal

I know man. I am trying not to. Its just been so frustrating feeling so good and having all these setbacks. On a positive note...I woke up this morning and my peck and shoulder are no where near as sore as I thought they would be. That area is def sore and tight but it feels better than expected. Maybe that's a good sign! I will keep rehabbing it and taking it easy. Thanks for your support and encouragement Matt!

I have been reading non stop and after much research decided to pull the trigger on some thymosin beta 4 (TB500) maybe you should too bro. With the way you like to train it seems like it would really benefit you.

So after being so injury prone these past few weeks I decided to not go heavy with legs yesterday. My ham was still tight and after re injuring my shoulder I wasn't going to test it

My leg workout was great. Despite the low weight...it was very intense! I got the leg press workout from bodybuilder Erick Fankhouser but I modified it a bit. Its very tough but a nice twist to your leg workouts maybe once a month!

So the general idea is to start with a plate on each side of the sled for ten reps. U then add another to make it two plates on each side for twenty. Next set u add another to make it three plates a side for thirty and u keep increasing plates each set and increasing reps as well...4x40, 5x50, 6x60, etc. The ultimate goal is to get to 10x100. Its pretty much unattainable but something to shoot for! U only have 1 min max rest between sets. The burn is sick! So here we go!

Exercise1 leg press
1-45 each sidex10
2-45 each sidex20
3-45 each sidex30
4-45 each sidex40
5-45 each sidex50
6-45 each sidex60

I still had more left so I did it again but started at the top with 6-60 and worked down to 1-10

Exercise2 leg extension
Set1
55x10
70x10
85x10
100x10
115x10
130x10
145x10
160x10
Set2
160x10
145x10
130x10
115x10
100x10
85x10
70x10
55x10

Exercise3 iso hammer strength leg curl
25-each sidex50
25-each sidex50
25-each sidex40
25-each sifex40

It took a while to do the workout because of all the reps but it was truely intense. I could barely walk afterwards. My legs felt like they were gonna pop! And just to let u know ...on the leg extensions each set was done without stopping from 55-160 and then from 160-55. If u ever want a change to your leg routine...try it out!

Haven't been keeping up with this like I should! My apologies my friend.

After skimming though I see you're dealing with an injury...? Damn man, it's not serious is it? What happened exactly?

You know what you are doing...you are adjusting perfectly to your injuries...ice and Ibuprofen and just train smart bro...you got this shit! No whining! We all train injured, it is frustrating but not the end...those leg press exercises are insane, and will have to give it a go when on my cycle...looks painfully fun!
