Ive been lifting 6 on 1 off for about a month now. People tell me that its stupid for me to do it, but im getting great strength gains and cuts. Plus my body hasn't been all sore or tired from it.

so is it just wrong for some people or what???

im 22, weigh 174, 6'1

my schedule is

teusday - chest tri's
wday - back bi's
thursday - legs shoulders
fri - chest tri's
sat - back bi's
sun - legs shoulders
mondays always off

basically the common excercises

It all depends on volume/intensity. You can do a single set of 50% squats every day - even twice per day with no issues. Performing 8 sets of 3 at 90% with a massive amount of other work daily - that's probably pushing it. So, no, you are not stupid because you train 6 days per week. Plenty of athletes can handle more frequency. It's the total spectrum of inputs that's important - not just. If it's currently working for you, stick to it.

Many factors determine whether or not this is overtraining for you.

1. How long you have been lifting.
2. How intense your training is.
3. Current strength level
4. Your metabolism/ability to recover.
5. Age, easier to train a lot at 22 than 30
6. How much sleep/rest you get.

When I was 19 I trained chest 3 times per week and made huge gains. If I tried that now at 28 I would injure myselft in a short period of time.

Bottom line if it works for you and you aren't having any problems than stick with it. Though you should periodically evaluate your overall health and wellbeing to make sure you aren't negatively effecting yourself.
