Is a class in NOVELL worth taking?

Hi,

I have the opportunity to take a class in NOVELL from the temp agency I am working for. I am wondering if this is a good idea or a waste of time.

I have very limited exposure in the computer IT field. I do have MOUS certifications and basic computer skills. However, I do want to learn more about the computer field and progress up over a period of time.

The reason I ask if it is a good idea is that I do not see many NOVELL listings in the paper.

Is this a difficult class? Would it be worth the time to take it and have it listed on my resume? Eventually I want to get into WEb Design. But since this class is free.........

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless it's free and it's not more than like 2 weeks. they're fading in the market. but if it's free you'll learn more about how technology works, making it easier to grasp other concepts. if it's not free no way.

Plus the work you'll do with novell is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay different than the career of a web person. it's like apples and oranges.

Any free class is worth taking, but Novell is kinda dying out, IMHO.

Can't really say how hard it would be, but the more things you've been exposed to in the computer world, the better off you are.

Well, only in the sense that they're both operating systems...

short answer yes, long answer no. Unix will help your career more for web development than Novell. But when you use unix there are not as many pretty pictures as there are with windows. You have to type commands out. I think it's better.

But any class is good if it's free. I wish I got free training.

you're right, but you can say the same thing about a lot of IT stock prices too.

But novel is out, but if she's got time to kill and it's a short class, why not. exposure would be good for her.

DOS! lol, only people in IT would find that funny. Don't take DOS.

As for UNIX, it's good to know. but I'm skeptical about classes. Depends on how much it costs. And you need to keep using it after you're done with classes or you'll forget.
