Your heart rate is a little high Bro. High enough I would have it checked by an MD. Most males in decent shape are gonna be around 60 - 70 bpm .... females a bit higher. As far as the low end of the sepectrum, it is called bradycardia. In athletes, bradycardia can be normal. For most People, anything under 40 is cause for real concern. For endurance athletes it is another story. My resting HR is 38. They are elite cyclists who have posted low 30's and I think Miguel Indurain was in the very high 20's. Lance A. is also near that. But for most people, that would spell shock and death.

its true Miguel Indurain had a HR off 27 i clearly remember that

Hey Dr. Zaius....

Your LOL about Indurain's HR being 28-29 .... was that amazement or are you scoffing at the idea?

I was just wondering if you think I am silly for sharing such folly or are you simply suprised?

First off, we dont really know anything about this guy such as age, weight, meds, medical history, etc. But for the average Joe Bodybuilder who is on this board, 90 bpm is high. This rate prolonged will cause health risks. You should check it while at rest ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION and with an empty bladder. The average Joe without any gear should be around 60-80 while at rest. I consider myself a slightly above average Joe and my rate is high 50's at rest. A full bladder will cause an increase in the renin/angiotensin levels (controlled by the kidney) and will increase heart rate and blood pressure.

Second, Lance A and Miguel I are not normal people. They are professional athletes and noone should expect to come close to them in terms of cardiovascualr health and heart rate. They have such little peripheral vascular resistance that their organ perfusion is just fine with a heart rate in the 20-30's. They have incredibly efficient cardiovascualr systems.

You are right Dr. T

The fact that there is someone who had a resting HR at 28 doesn't mean that it is average or wanted or needed by most of us. It was normal for Miguel at the time he was training as an elite.

My post was more a reference for how far a range we might find when considering one's healthy heart rate at rest.
At the high end or low end. Given AS/gear has a way of raising blood pressure and possibly increasing heart disease, someone with a resting HR of 90 something should be concerned in my opinion. It may mean nothing and it may mean a lot. Check it out Bro so that you know.

For Dr. Z and the giggling IronBarbarian. You guys ought to check your ego's and attitudes.

Then check these sites for starters. I'll get more if you need them.

References to Indurain's heart rate and his personal cardiologist are within those sites.

Man, you think 91 is bad. When Tiratricol was out I was taking 3 capsules a day. Mine went from a usual 60 to 120 in about a week. Needless to say, I was off quick. 91 really isn't that bad considering AS somewhat excites your CNS.

You're gonna use up all your beats, and die. Gattaca.
