Iron man 2 sucked....

Really? I heard that it was, but I was hoping that it would be okay because a friend of mine loves the character.

The first one was amazing...This one I have had some people tell me it was great and some people say they didnt like it...Either way, Robert Downey Jr. plays a good Tony Stark.

I collected Spiderman and Iron Man comics as a youth...along with X-Men...they have done a decent job with the movie franchises thus far; I was concerned they might geigh up Iron Man II. :(

I really liked it.

Toby was the WORST spiderman ever...X-men jacked up the whole time line (Gambit only being in the back story? Rouge was what 13? boo)...IronMan 1 and the New Hulk were the only ones remotely decent. Ive heard both sides about Ironman 2, but the negative reviews have been from people that aren't big on comics or know the stories, so I dunno, Ill see it this week.

I really liked it too, time flew by while watching and saw awesome effects,if you go STAY after the credit rollsdo not leave, you will catch an extra interesting awesome scene! :)

There was a "secret" scene at the end of the first one too...and RDJ already hinted at a 3rd one in an interview he said they "had to hold things back in this one but he can't wait to get the go ahead to put alot of new thing sin the next one." Also they are coming out with Justice League and Captain America, and at the end of Hulk Tony Stark showed up and told the general "he was putting together a team." They are going to link all of the Marvel Movies together for the Justice League. Good times...

I heard that too, now I am pissed. they always f up good movies.
Yeah, I never thought that they could fuck up the Frank Castle story....yet they did. I didn't think that they could fuck up AvP because the concept is AMAZING...yet they did...twice!

No fanboy has ever been pleased by any movie adaptation of something they spent a shitload of time following. I think they captured the essence as it fits for a mass market audience. I liked Tobey as Spiderman, who would you have cast? LOTR was butchered as far as the timeline but Jackson impressed me with his interpretation...before the movies were released I would have sworn you couldn't make Tolkien into a movie that captures any essence of the books. Movies are the cliff notes for franchises that have a loyal following. If someone watches Spiderman, Ironman or even Superman (I hate DC) and they pick up a comic because of it then more power to them.

Yup Thor, Capt America and Avengers coming in 2011 and 2012, Im not pleased with the kid from fantastic 4 (Johnny/torch) playing captain america....
I also want to see prince of persia....

In Spiderman, Peter Parker was a geek but he was also a sarcastic smart ass as Spiderman. Toby was just a weak, whiney, no personality 100% loser. They "killed" Venom in like 15 seconds by smacking some poles? Really? Doc Connors STILL isn't the Lizard? He's been in each movie for like 15 seconds and was one of the MAIN characters through Spiderman. Obviously they cant hit ALL aspects of the years and years and years of comics but I mean at least hit the MAIN points and don't cut corners for some BS. Topher Grace played one of the MOST BAD ASS Spiderman characters in Venom? Are you kidding? X-men didn't even have the correct characters involved in the time line.

As Ive said for a while now Ironman's back story in the first one was done almost perfectly while transitioning into the rest of the movie. The NEW Batman films, transitioning to the DARK Batman (the way it was supposed to be done at first anyways) are the best remakes to date.

I don't want EVERYTHING to be perfect, but at least get the correct characters and have their personalities CLOSE to how they were intended.

WTF?!?!??!?! That little guy is playing CAP? NO F'in way! He was ok as Johnny because of his attitude...Hell JOHN CENA would make a better CAP then that little fuck! Booooo!

P of P I cant get into, seeing as he is played by one of the gay broke back mountain peeps lol

I agree that dude in spiderman was a POS he is too lame, geeky, weak and gay looking, however Jake Gylenhall is pretty much all those things too but he looks pretty good in the trailers for Prince of Persia, pretty manly compeltely shaking the "brokeback" feel....

I dunno why they r doing a P o P movie...There are MUCH better video games to make into movies. The DEVIL MAY CRY series should be made into a movie ASAP. (but done correctly)

The guy that played Kirk in the NEW Star Trek movies was actually pretty good, I liked him...But he def hasnt done enough JOOOSE to be THOR...and Cap was huge too, hence John Cena being great for that kind of role. lol

They should take another stab at silent hill and WTF happened with RE damn it!!!!? I want to see all those hot Alice clones :p

I'll point out the Ironman origin was a Vietnam story...they did a great job updating it and making it work for the audience. I agree with you about Peter Parker but the origin of Spiderman is about the responsibility of power. That message resonated with me because I was a fat little kid that grew into a good looking athlete in Jr. high. One of the reasons I always liked Marvel is because their characters had realistic motivations. Just because you have super powers doesn't change the fact wiminz are a pain in the ass or you have to pay your rent.

LOL, They ruined DOOM, SH, RE, they were all done piss poorly.

Im pissed Devil May Cry 5 isnt out yet as the last one left sooooo many plot holes I was pissed at the end but the story in the game was also so good I lose sleep over not knowing all the plot holes and where the next game is going.

Google Johnny Yong Bosch, he was a power ranger oddly enough, but he does voice acting for like of anime and video games. He has a movie called Broken Path and Hellbinders. Low budget films but he's an amazing martial artist, he would be good in some of these roles also.

Man I have so many ideas for game to movies or from cartoon to live action, why cant hollywood get anything right? lol All they can do are remakes of old movies or ruin game to movie transitions. Blah...Im irritated now thinking about it lol

Well yeah, they hit the "With great power comes great responsibility" which HAD to be in the movies, but other than that I think they missed the bullseye with how they wanted Toby to project the regular guy and hero attitudes. He was fine as the nerdy, whiney, kid, but he never really changed into the smart ass super hero, he just kind of turned into a nerd in a costume. Pete had two very different attitudes, one the movies he really only had one.

I also saw the trailer for Avatar today (the anime not the suckass James Cameron one) and it looks REALLY cool,at least special effectswise it looks pretty awesome....

Honestly. Avatar the cartoon is an amazing story...M Night Shamalon however you spell his name better not ruin it. That is actually a VERY deep, detailed, amazing story oddly enough for a kids cartoon...I was pumped in the movie theater when I saw the trailer. I just dont know hwo they are going to transition the characters to the big screen and cover all 4 "book/chapter" for each kingdom in a movie...

If you like Avatar (The last air bender), you would like 'Bleach', it's an Anime and Johnny Yong Bosch does the main character's voice. He did some voice work in the RE video games, he did Nero in the new Devil May Cry. Also, 'Cowboy Bebop' and 'Vash the Stampede' are GREAT stories (JYB does the voice acting for this too).

I've been in enough of these arguments to accept that two fan boys can agree to disagree. That being said...I want a decent Captain America movie....:(

Chris Evans is the man, and he's been packing on some muscle for his CA role. I think youll prefer him to the guy they were going to choose originally...John Krasinski (Jim from The Office).

To me he will always be Derek in Back to School, that's why I don't watch any of his crap movies.

To me he will always be Julian in Less Than Zero
lol

Rubbish movie.

discuss ala bino :coffee:

Somehow I think you had your mind made up even before you went to see it.....which leads me to ask, why the hell did you even bother lol?

Wait, you're all about the special effects but yet knocking the Cameron movie...?

I suspect I'm going to love it. My generation grew up with old Iron-Man and Thor comic books. And we also had Six-Million Dollar man and Star Trek too.

Those drove a lot of my Christmas presents. I still remember when you could get the Sears 200-in-1 science project sets.

That BS "avatar" cameron movie was HORRIBLE. Had to be the gayest thing I was ever forced to watch in my life...Seeing it in 3d was the only thing that kept me amused for an hour out of the 3...Then they started talking about going green, and the god in the trees and nature shit and I wanted to shoot myself. A lot of people walked out of the theater I was in before the movie was over, I almost did, but the girl I was with wouldnt leave...Grrrrr

absolutely not dude I was way looking forward to go see it. A bunch of my pussy hound guido friends were heading out to the bars but I skipped to see this movie. The final "boss fight", if you will, was weak and lame all rolled up in one. Iron man 1 was good cause they didn't try to do "too much" in terms of the story and dialogue. They kept it within their means. For two, I don't know who wrote the dialogue but they should be ritualistically jackslapped in a dungeon for 48 hours straight. And wtf was with Scarlet's character? Why did she even bother with this drivel..she's a talented actress.

What he said ^^^
The Avatar special effects were quite lame they just had petty colors and the 3D experience wasnt even that great, I enjoyed more watching Terminator 3D in the Universal studios attraction ten years ago than that POS Avatar movie....

like avatar or not that's one's opinion....but that there are people who would walk out of avatar yet sit through iron man 2, well

pics of you and your crew dressed up for a night on the town!

I think a lot of people had a problem with:

1. the message it was sending (tree hugging/earth loving, anti-U.S. politics, alien love fest, etc.)
2. the fact that the main characters looked weird.
3. letting the above two issues somehow paint the entire movie (including special effects) as dogshit. Which is laughable; especially when considering that NASA is going to use Cameron's 3D camera system for their next mission to Mars.

How many other movies' 3D technologies has influenced NASA again?

once you get past the fact that the navi rape the native flora and fauna with their tail on the reg, the movie is amazing

The fact that it was filmed well doesnt make it a good movie.

Avatar was slightly above average at best.

Not every "good" movie is supposed to be "Citizen Kane" Oscar-worthy. Avatar was promoted on its special effects and it delivered, regardless of its theme, acting, storyline, etc. Just like people don't go to horror movies expecting thesis-inspiring acting technique or story progression, people don't go to a movie like Avatar thinking the special effects would be overshadowed by anything else it had.

I thought the whole thing looked like a bad cartoon...but whatever...

If they do a Splinter Cell movie I'm going to go see it no matter how much it sucks.
tee-hee! Sam Fisher!

HAHA i forgot about that

"if anyone steps on my vibram shoes i'm starting a fight"

that's pretty god damn funny bro :lmao:

I ain't got no pics of that crew, yet. They are a riot though. They all look like jersey shore daego's but they're lebanese. Every fuckin weekend they're out in limo's cause some other "connection" of theirs owns a limo service. You would swear they were jersey shore knockoffs until you here the arabic gettin spread. One of my boys that I work out with is actually from jersey shore and is Italian.....he just has no idea what to make of these guys. These guys could really do a legit version of "my lebanese new haircut".

and how was avatar "anti U.S"? I mean I understand the environmental subtexts....but exactly how does one take that "personally" as an american? How is directly anti U.S instead of a broader message against how we operate on this planet as a species...?? How narcissistic does one have to be to consider this movie "anti U.S"....

Because the US consumes 90% of the oil on the planet while only being a small fraction of the entire population. The poorest people in the U.S. have a better lifestyle than most of the worlds population. Cameron came out publicly supporting the environmentalist agenda while photo oping with small pockets of indigenous peoples against the use of their resources...he was garbed in local swag as well.

Speaking at a private industry screening of the film, the director with his star Zoe Saldana said that "Avatar" -- with its depiction of mineral exploitation on a distant planet and a cadre of trigger-happy mercenaries charged with instituting a scorched earth policy -- is very much a political film.

"This movie reflects that we are living through war. There are boots on the ground, troops who I personally believe were sent there under false pretenses, so I hope this will be part of opening our eyes." -- James Cameron.

Fuck man... it was better than iron man 1.
I mean, it's no watchmen... I never read the comic book.
However, u were looking for techno explosive tony stark I'm the man, straight to dvd hype... so for that matter, job done.

Yeah, it sucked... but U knew it would.

really? you liked that dialogue? I guess.....but what of the final battle? that was weak and lame all rolled up into a neat little ball. Yeah there were "technically" no boring parts because the movie never stopped to take a breathe of any sort of realism whatsoever. They had to have cut some major film from the final battle cause it was literally like 30 seconds that Rourke was in his "boss suit" and then got pwned. You didn't find their stupid little fight in his house lame at all?

I mean it's not the worst movie I've ever seen but something I probably would have rather seen on DVD or pay per view when there was absolutely nothing else to do.

lol... funny that a guy is dissing the short fight scene- which I thought was fine...having seen all the Transformers movies (yuk) i was pretty happy they kept it short! lol

I wouldn't mind short if it had at least been done well...but I didn't think it was. You didn't find Rourke's demise to be kind of weak? When he dropped in at the end I was like finally, maybe now we get to see a brawl.......not!

Dude, it was Rourke as "whiplash", not exactly a powerhouse villain anyways. RDJ did an interview and said they held ALOT back because the next one is coming out after The Avengers, Thor, Captain America, and they will be tying the whole Marvel Universe together which they have been building up to since Hulk when Tony Stark shows up and tells the General that he's "building a team" and in Iron Man 1 where Tony is building Captain America's shield on his desk when he is getting the suit taken off for the first time. I think this movie was just to hold people over until these major project come together.
