I'm still not sold on ALA

Nautica where can I get the best prices on ala. I saw it in the vitamin shoppe for 17 dollars for 100 100mg pills. At 3000 a day that would last 3 days. Also I know some people were buying in bulk and capping them in their houses. I don't want those. So where is the best place online that sells the most for your buck. thanks brother.

I liked the analogy of if you didn't take ALA on a cycle and you gained 10lb of fat + 10lb. of muslce, net gain of 20lb. But if you did take ALA while on a cycle, your gains would be appoximately 6lb. of fat and 14lbs of muscle, netting 20lb.(but more quality mass).

But does it still work while off cycle? Can I take it just to take it, no roids at all? And still make good gains?

Not too mention I'm still not sold on its effectiveness, I mean after all it is still a "supplement" and anything legal probably doesn't work in the first place when it comes to muscle mass gains.

Has anyone reported results yet?

I don't believe that ala does much at all for gaining and keeping muscle.
 
Well finally we get a solid answer (sort of :)). Thanks Cubano...and if it doesn't give you sustainable muscle, whats the point other than antioxidant, which a good multivitamin/mineral will do the trick...

Dude, what are you talking about? A solid answer? Are you really
looking for an answer or an opinion? Because that's what El Cubano (I luv ya brother) gave....HIS opinion. If you don't want
to take the word of many who are useing (usually in the 3000mg
range per day) and getting tremendous results, then don't do
ALA. You'll be missing out, nobody else:D

There have been various posts on this board, but suggestions range from 600 mg to 3 g a day. I personally prefer 1.5 g + a day for liver protection. You liver won't get mad for keeping it healthy! :D

Could be a Placebo effect. All these guys read a great post on it, then rushed out and bought some, and then worked hard and attributed their gains to ALA. Stuff like this happens all the time. We need a double-blind study done before it's effects can be confirmed.
 
Well I'm getting tired of hearing the results from ALA that sound like this: "worked great for me" What the heck does that mean? Creatine worked great for me, doesn't mean I'd recommend it. Can we get some DETAILED results, other than, "experience the magic"...
 
Man Child- Here is a post from Rangerx83, who has gotten
tremendous results with ALA at higher doses. I firmly believe in
ALA because what it does, can't be argued with. It's like all those
people who claim Yohimburn don't work for them. I give a lot
of credit to Rangerx because he had the ballz (and heart) to
experiment with high doseing. Give it a read.

I used ALA for cutting and it worked great! Stats: Jan 1rst 203lbs @ 12%bf now: 180lbs @4.7%bf.

I did ZERO cardio. That's right zip, zero, nada, zilch. You do have to create a small calorie deficit by dieting however. I took anywhere from 900mg to 2100mg ALA with each meal. The more carbs I had the more ALA I used.

I alternated between 1 or 2 low carb days, followed by 1 or 2 medium to high carb days. Even though I was eating an average of 300gm of carbs/day I was almost always in trace to moderate ketosis.

Careful taking ALA first thing in the morning, following a low carb day, because you *will* go into into hypoglycemia. Your glucose levels are naturally low in the morning; add low carbingthe day before to that and you'll dispose of almost all your blood glucose. On those days I had 150gm carbs from ultra fuel, first thing in the morning, and still stayed in ketosis! ALA is Amazing stuff..

Oh and more thing: Take the ALA first, followed by *immediately* stuffing your face. Otherwise at that dosage you will get the nastiest heartburn you've ever experienced!
