I have been out due to cancer

Hey bro's, many of you know me, some do not. I have been absent for several weeks now due to being diagnosed with testicle cancer! Not cool! I am an A-League socer player here in the U.S. and towards the end of the season I was having all sorts of issues with shortness of breath, pain in my groin, and abdomen, fatigue, etc. I went to the doc and he found a rock like lump in my left nut. It turns out it was cancer. I had surgery and am in reovery. They believe it was all in one area, not related to steroid use and that I should recover just fine.

I am so depressed, my fitness is all fucked up and I will not be playing in the indoor season. I am scrawny and cry like a little bitch right now. I just went back to the gym yesterday and was dragging around fucking 10 lbs dumbells like they were 100's! I am embarrassed to even be seen, I wear long pants and a sweatshirt everywhere I go.

Thanks guys and peace.

well 4 years ago i was 150 lbs and scrawny. i didn't go through cancer and can't imagine what you are dealing with. but if they got it all then you can grow. i got up to 200 lbs. i am starting a second cycle from 178 lbs right now.

i bet with time and effort you will get back to what you know you can be-

best of luck to you bro-
Cal

Sorry to hear that Bro.
Now let's get a grip here. You had cancer removed from your testical and you're upset about losing mass?? Are you kidding me?? Just be happy you know how to fix that and that the cancer didn't kill you. It's only going to take you 5-6 months to get it all back. And in the mean time, you're here to tell the story and it's got a happy ending.

I am a pathalogical optimist! Hey...you caught it in time! That is a great thing! You can go on and grow again.Question, Do you ride a Harley? A friend of mine had Testical cancer and he rode and his doc said 8-10 of the docs last patients rode harleys....hmmmm

Life is full of hurdles that we must overcome. Overcome this one and you will be stronger for it.

Damn Stry, sorry to hear it bro. As Ulter said, at least you have some positives in the equation... and they are some really good fucking positives given the situation.

The good thing is, with guys like us that have cycled, at least you have sort of experience dealing with slight depressions so-to-speak. The downs during PCT or a bad rebound really sucks ass... but we push past it in the end, as you will this.

Try to keep your chin up man. You've already shown that you have the dedication and comittment to do what it takes to get your body in shape. You've overcome the difficult obsticles already. Now its just going to take a brief time to get you back up to speed, and you'll be sprinting again in no time bro.

This is a life changing experience that has a beginning but has no end... you will alway have been diganosed with cancer and you will always be a servivor... you may be hitting an incredible low now after the diagnosis and surgery but it is now your job to survive... you need to be very open to change after this becuase you are not going to be the same person you were before. Things will be more important that never were and you will find and I have watched my friend decide "I either move forward and survive or don't"... things just change after that... but enjoy the gym that is why you started going there.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I can tell you that i have worked oncology for about 5 years in the past and testicular cancer is THE most cured cancer with a success rate of over 90%. I have personally had patients all with different stage tumors and all were cancer free 3 years after treatment. This is a time to surround yourself with positive and supportive people to keep your spirits up. I know that hearing the word cancer is a scary thing but i truly believe that a positive outlook along with medical science can do wondrous things......keep yer chin up!
