I know that whenever I have gotten into fight (in the far PAST) it could have been avoided only if I have kept my mouth shut and not make it worse in any other way so it would come to that.

I know what you are saying. No, I dont blame myself. I never have. Now that all that crap is in the history books, I go over all that stuff and try to analize what have I done personally to fuel the argument and maybe make it boil over - me jabbing at his weaknesses, jabbing at his mom and sister, talkin shit that I dont mean in general is not really helping when someone is already upset.

agreed. Ive done that in the past when I was in unhealthy relationships. Me being malicious, him being malicious = recipe for disaster. But no way in hell is it everr justified for someone to lay their hands on another and cause physical harm or injury or pain.
