How can I fix my lower back? Really need advise

I pulled out my lower back. What can help this its been like 3 weeks already I cant go 2 the gym or do any MA training the only thing that helps is aleeve. Not to sound like a pussy. I dont wanna cause anymore injury to it. I went back for One day just to see how it would hold up and did fuckin cardio. and felt worse.
Does it just take time?

Anyone think a single shot of deca will be of any use or harm? it sucks. I wanna be 100% in the gym and for training. but the back is fucked.

A lot can be said for a good chiropractor AND physical therapist. I used both when I herniated my L4-5 disk, was back pulling deads in 6 weeks. Just do the exercises they give you and keep getting the adjustments.

Good Luck!

I have been through upper and lower back injuries.

In the short term, medical attention will help you.

In the long term, you need to stretch, specifically your weakened areas, everyday. And I mean EVERYDAY, probably for good.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

be careful man...

I found out 8 months ago that I had broken my back in two spots and that it had been that way for years, an old football injury that I never got checked out...

to make a long story short, I had surgery, got two infections, went in the hospital at 253, 2.5 weeks later I was 211 and had been spiking fevers of 107 F, I almost died, develped clot in my leg, had 6 more surgeries, one to put a screen in below my heart (to block the clots), got me all fu#ked up bro...

Just be careful and if you do need medical attention take it super slow and email me on the details, cause I would have done it totally different if I could go back...

Lower back pain can follow you the rest of your life

I advise you get to a good back specialist and have the appropriate tests done to know exactly what your situation is.
Is it disc? muscular? nerve?. Lotta possabilities. I have a compressed l3/l4 vertabrae so I know what is up and have learned how to train wo problems. Inquire into cortisone shots.
These can be very helpful in reducing the pain from inflamations.
But the best approach is to let it heal. Dont worry about time away from the gym. Youll get back into it when youve got your back well.

A chiropractor will only help if he problem is spinal. If it's a pulled muscle or a tear in the erector spinae an adjustment won't help, but it's worth a shot.

Speaking of shots, cortisone only masks the pain. And it's catabolic.

Accupuncture might be worth a try, but I don't hold too much stock in it.

Your best bets:

Massage. (Try it with Emu oil)

A heating pad. (Those things are miricle workers for the lower back.)

Good Mornings!

Gentle stretching.

Rest.

Feel better bro.

Get a diagnosis.
A Dr. may not give you x-rays, don't let him go until he does. X-rays will probably be nondiagnostic, chances are you need an MRI, but most Drs won't give you one until you have x-rays.
He will probably give you a muscle relaxant and mild narcotic painkiller, your choice to use them, they won't fix the probem.
Ask for a referral to physical therapy, preferably orthopedic certified specialist.
Chiropractors, FOR THE MOST PART, are quacks. Their constant mobilizations of the spine destroy the stability, and will condemn you to a life of continual, gradually less effective, chiropractic corrections. I qualify that remark because some chiropractors don't just look at you as guaranteed return business.

Peace!

Calling chiropractors "quacks" is a little harsh. For conditions resulting is misallignment thay can do what no MD can. The problem is, some of them tend to think that EVERYTHING is a result of misallignment. Also, once you're adjusted... you're adjusted. Several visits is akin to tuning a piano that's already in tune.

Obvioulsy, if nothing helps, you have to go the traditional medical route. But keep in mind. DOCTORS LOVE TO CUT! Also X rays aren't conclusive and MRI's aren't the best indicator of pain.

Be it doctors or chiropractors the same rule applies:

"If a hammer is the only tool you know how to use -- everything looks like a nail."

I think chiropractors have a place, but if the injury requires frequent and ongoing adjustment that chiro isnt the answer. If you find yourself needing constant adjustment then you are likely suffering from tendon/ligiment laxity allowing the spine to easily get out of proper alingment. Taking NSAID like aleeve is reducing the swelling and hence the pain. But you have to realize that the swelling is what initiates a cascade of healing action by the body and when you rely on it you circumvent the healing process and in turn stay in an injured state for much longer and sometimes permanently...at least until you either allow the body to heal or force it to heal.

Not wanting to cause injury is s smart thing, early diagnosis and treatment is important. Although exercise is also imprtant because it promotes blood flow which in turn aid the healing, you just have to find a happy medium and if the pain is severe then likely mild stretching is as far as you should take it.

Since you jumped on aleve immediatly you likely circumvented any healing that may have taken place so you are likely no better off now than when you injured yourself. I would recommend laying off the aleeve and avoid ice. Instead use heat like montana suggested. If it persists or does not improve over the next few weeks then I would consider prolotherapy to force the healing process. You can learn more at prolonew.com and also look for a doc in your area.
