load up for both in the squat rack and just talk the whole time
reach arounds
you can swing down to indiana and do deads with me and a couple of my friends. and get blazed after(and before). sometime in the afternoon/eve we hit it.

both on the same day eh? been thinking on doing the same! anyone else do squats & deads on the same day...? what the pros & cons?I prefer to do both on my heavy back squat day
workout is something like
Squats 6-8 heavy sets 6-12 reps
trisetx 3 sets
leg press 12-15
Walking lunges 20-25 per leg
leg extensions 12-15
Heavy Deadlifts 4-6 sets
1 leg hamstring curls 3x12
2 leg prone leg curls 3x12
and a bunch of calf stuff before cardio
I like the synergy of squats and deads same workout...![]()

man i really like that picture
ummm yeah, ok, about squatting and dl'ing on the same day..........really a good idea? Aren't you taking away from one of em? I actually do not squat and deadlift in the same week. I alternate......and that's when my poundages started to go back up. Still not near where I used to be but my back is definitely thanking me for the alternation. I really feel strong now when I do either one and that gives me the confidence to push the weights up a little.

When I was really good about my scheduled workouts, I did squats on mondays and DLs on thursdays.....to give a decent amount of time in between. Now I DL twice a month and squat twice a month. More than that and I edge into overtraining.
overtraining is a myth, eat more sleep more

i've been diggin front squats lately
can't quite get comfortable with the narrow stance
feels like i'm gonna fall backwards.
i like the wider stance and shooting my toes out
I hate front squats but it's a crossfit staple so when I'm training with one group of guys the fsquats are always on the menu. They do those fucking tabata rep wkts with em too, which suck fucking ballz
i flare my knees so i can sink lower.
what kinda weight you work with and do you go fully down?
with the tabata wkts we're talking 135 at most....20 seconds on 10 seconds off, 8 cycles. When I first started doin em I figured I'd be puttin at least 200 on, I was wisely advised to start with 90 pounds and see where it went. Fucking 25 pounds on each end was burning my legs to mush after about 4-5 rounds. That was my first taste of crossfit style wkts and they pwned me. Legs never hurt that bad in my life.
just reg f/squatting no yoga shit what kinda weight would you work with?
i'm curious, the discrepenancy in weight between f/sq and b/sq for me is weakness
yoga shit? tabata wkts are a crossfit staple....I thought you were crossfit homie?
anyway, I would have no idea since i"ve never loaded up on a front squat. Probably not even 4 plates I'd imagine as I'm not terribly comfortable with how the bar sits on my throat...and that's with 135."Maybe" 225...and that would be with my arms/shoulders taking the whole weight. I doubt I'd be comfortable laying 225 high up on the clavicle. The discrepancy disappears the more you do em though......best I can say. There's a hot diesel bitch on my crossfit team that does 135 front squats like nothin, but she does em constantly.
I do thrusters with 135 snatch grip so that's basically a front squat followed by a push press. Never thought about doing that during the tabata's, I'd imagine my wrists would be fugged after a few cycles.
My bad dude I thought you followed the wod's at cf.com. How do you structure your wkts then?
where's your cardio coming from? that looks like all plifting/bb'in wkts
you a firefighter right? smokejumper?
cool, as what? you maintain it or you fly it?
