Goal: Jacked inner pecs and thunderous biceps

Thanks, Proto, I will check it out.....

I had some KFC last night, lol, actually a lot of KFC.....then woke up this morning and had a ham omlette, a whole wheat bagel, and some oatmeal......then drove to the gym.

Saturday.....6/10/06

Hang Snatch (these were from the hip, or the high hang as some say, and they were all caught high in the power position; I haven't really snatched with a barbell in months and months, and from the hip, you really need to generate a lot of force over a short distance, then you need to move fast, so I felt these were a good choice for today) : about a million warm-ups with the bar, 95, and 115....then 135x 6 triples, 155x1, 175x1, 195x1, 200x1, 205x1. These were stronger than I expected at 205, I'd love to get that up to 250ish in the next few months.....I felt fast and explosive today, probably from the obscene amounts of test, gh, and 'slin that KFC no doubt injects their chickens with.

Snatch Pull: 225x3, 255x3, 265x3, 275x3, 285x3...these were really smooth off the floor, shoulders were out in front of the bar as they should be, then I was really getting some great explosion on the final pull, I couldn't have been happier with these.

Weighed 242 and change......good day, biceps a little sore from chinning yesterday, something clicked and I think I will do chins and situps on Sat next week after the explosive lifting, it's kind of silly separating them......squats galore and GMs tomorrow.

Good readin' as usual.

BTW, you didn't get that new KFC bowl they're advertising on TV did you? Mashed potatoes at the bottom, a layer of corn, a heaping of chicken nuggets with gravy and cheese on top.

When I saw the commercial I thought 'Who would eat that except for Biggt?'

no, lol, it looked pretty tasty though, I had some extra crispy breats (never was a thighs and dark meat guy) and a mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and of course buscuits.

I am awaiting protobuilder's comments on the breats/dark meat.

Proto, do you have acess to a shot or hammer or anything like that?

KFC = greatness. Breasts in a tub = supergreatness.

Implements . . . uh, sort of. We've been compiling "implements" mainly by searching junkyards and home depot. I've rigged up a "weight for height/distance" that consists of chain, a makeshift handle to slip over the chain . . . run the chain through a plate and bingo. You can sling it. LoL Shot? Not yet. Have I mentioned I've never thrown a shot at all? LoL It'll be fugly. Hammer? We're working on it, but throwing a small sledge should work in the meantime. :chomp: We've also got a tire, for discus training. And sandbags, lots and lots of sandbags. And a wheelbarrow. And some old duffels. And, and, and . . . junk. Trying to find a caber is harder than yo'ud think. Although I need to chop down some dead trees in my backyard and some of them may work just fine . . .

As you can see, I'm establishing is a finely-honed Highland Games training center.

I saw The Omen last night, it was pretty entertaining, despite already knowing the story and blah blah blah......Woke up this morning and pounded 4 whole eggs with a 1/4 lb of Angus Beef and home fries and toast....then had some Gatorade and headed to the gym.

Sun 6/11/06

Back Squat: 135x10, 225x10, 315x5, 335x5, 365x5, 395x5, 425x3

Front Squat: 315x1, 335x1, 365x1, 385x1, 385x1, 295x8, 295x8

Good Morning: 185x5, 225x5, 235x5, 245x5

Had a really good day....I thought fatigue was setting in on Friday, but I guess not because I felt faster and more explosive than ever both today and yesterday. The back squats all felt easy, and the bar felt light across my back, which is always a good thing.

Your squatting is out of this world. Not sure what's more impressive, your back squat or your front squat. I don't know how you held your rack for 8 reps, either.

BTW, you don't usually do them both in the same workout do you? Were the front squats your back off sets today?

Thanks, man. I am a disproportionately good front squatter, they'd probably be higher than my back squat if I prioritized them, lol.....however, I am a HORRENDOUS wide-stance squatter.

yeah, typically I haven't done both backs and fronts in the same workout, just for this 3 week period I am doing it. I did the fronts for more volume, plus I don't want to regress on them. I have just done so many front squats and cleans over the years that I guess I am just comfortable with the rack. I get winded on the last few reps of the 8's, but I just keep the elbows high and my upperbody tight and I can grind them out. I do get winded bad at the end of each set of 8's though, but I figure thats good for me.

Do you pop out of the hole pretty quick on those front singles? I've seen people do 'em pretty ballistically, but when I do 'em, they're pretty deliberate.

As quickly as I can.....no bouncing of course as the descent is deliberate (but not exaggerated or anything), but with both backs and fronts I change directions explosively and I try to pop back up ballistically.....the 315, 335, and 365 probably look faster than the 385 sets, but I am still trying to come up as fast as I can.

Strict Overhead Press: 135x10, 185x5, 200x5, 205x5, 210x5

Close-Grip Bench Press: 135x10, 225x5, 275x1, 315x1, 345x1, 355x1, 365x1, 7 sets of 6 at 285

Barbell Curl: 95x5, 115x5, 125x5, 140x5, 145x5, 125x8, 125x8

Felt good today, wanted to hit something big on the close-grip, then I got concerned over the volume, which is why I did so many backoff sets. OHP felt real strong. Left the gym and had Sirloin steaks, corn on the cob, rice, salad, milk, and a scoop of ice cream.
