GHB BUST: Dozens held in date-rape drug probe

Digger, I'm sincerely sorry and pissed for your cousin being arrested. I wonder though, do you know what he was charged with? Cause it would seem that since GBL is only a listed chemical, that if his house had been otherwise clean and he did not have the K, X, pills and weed, they wouldn't be able to do shit. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if someone were to hypothetically receive a controlled delivery of GBL, denied it and had a clean house, could they still be at risk of legal trouble or even arrested?

In one of the news reports I read today about this whole mess, I read that John Asscroft is going to punish these drug dealers the way we used to punish drug dealers. Or something to that effect.

Anyway, my cousin was originally scheduled for arraignment 4 hours ago. But it keeps being pushed back and rescheduled. His wife called the court and they were extremely rude and told her that he will be scheduled for arraignment "when they get to it". WTF!

So the answer to your question is...he has yet to charged. They may get him on manufacture because of the GBL being delivered and GHB already in his possession. He had labware that was brand new...

what's kind of fucked up is that Chems** just sold the compounds needed to make G, not G itself.

YES! Pelchat & his affiliates wouldn't even ship GHB to the USA or any country that has banned it. Only GBL!

i think there is more to this entire thing than being known here. I just don't see a controlled delivery of 750ml of GBL, hardly enough to make a gallon and its not even scheduled???? I think there has to be more evidence to get a search warrant on your house than you ordering a listed chemical as a cleaning agent. Anyways, everyone, just clean your house to be safe and i know for a fact you don't have to sign for anything from these companies, so DO NOT SIGN!!!

Yes I think there is more too! I haven't talked to him directly yet but there has been a mention of NaOH being ordered but NOT delivered yet. And the NaOH being ordered from someone completely unrelated to this whole thing. So I don't think it is a factor in any of this mess. But I have NOT confirmed that.

yeh dan, if someone ordered NaOH, and GBL all from this company they will probably get a visit. I think there has to be more to this still, i mean 750ml of listed chemical shouldn't land anyone jail time.

They weren't even from the same company. I can't figure this out either. They are fucking him pretty hard though. He's been in for 24 hours without even seeing a judge yet.

I appreciate all the input though. From everyone! I'll keep you posted as things develop over the next day or two.

Thanks a lot!

Digger Dan, sorry to piss you off with my question...just wondered, better safe then sorry....sorry for what your cousin is going through along with you and his wife also...

IN NO WAY DID YOU PISS ME OFF!!!!! Sorry for that pissy one word answer.

I would not worry about a purchase several months ago. It's safe to assume that a purchase made 9 months ago would be gone. Finished. Nothing left. And the Feds would have a hard time convincing a judge that there WOULD be anything left.

CANADIAN ARRESTS

Canadian authorities also arrested three people in the Quebec City, including Daniel Pelchat, who operated several Web sites that advertised GHB kits and distributed them through the U.S. Postal Service. The Canadian ring was exporting the product to about 20 countries.

Officials seized $1 million in assets and 3,300 gallons of GBL and BD. The drugs seized equate to more than 25 million doses, which sell for $10 per dose on the street.

"Today's announcement is a dose of harsh reality for drug traffickers who seek to exploit the vast markets and anonymity of cyberspace," said Attorney General John Ashcroft ( news - web sites).

DEA officials said the major arrests included a mother and son team who sold the drug from Festus, Missouri. They had marketed the drug as Miracle Cleaning products since 1999 and hired mentally handicapped workers to mix the product.

Kevin and Ronald Brown of Sparta, Tennessee, marketed the drug on their Blue Raine Web site that sold ink jet supplies. They grossed more than $1 million, officials said. At least one person who bought the drug from them had died, they said.
