I lived near the GE building in Mnomenee falls. I wish I could remember some street names. There was a shopping area with an Atlanta Bread nearby and I pretty good Mexican restaurant. The people there were unbelievably nice.

I almost bought a house there! I was probably 4 hours from making an offer and Greg Lucier said: "We have another plan". Was sent to South Barrington instead to convert the old GE Finance building over to GE Medical System IT.

Oh, it was heaven. I lived in "Hidden Lakes". It was like a little bubble removed from the real world. The entire suburb (South Barrington... not all of barrington) is only 3 x 3 miles.

It was very insulated though. I would drink coffee on my back porch and watch cars travel down the highway. You'd see a ferrari doing 80 miles per hour and the south barrington police would wave at them. Then some beat-up car with a rough-looking driver would do 46 mph (speed limit 45) and sure enough, they'd be pulled-over.
