Forgot to refrigerate my flax oil...

Hey.. I ordered two small bottles of flax oil in the mail, and got them about two weeks ago..(after a week of shipment)..This is the first time I ever got flax oil.. and after opening one bottle and using it for the past two weeks, I realized it says keep refrigerated on the bottle!, now what is the reason for this?, is it possible for it to go bad?

see I never had flax before, it tastes "ok", but doesn't taste nearly as good as extra virgin olive oil.. flax oil isn't suppose to taste fruity and as good as oilve oil, right?

Personally, when I am not sure, I also just buy a new bottle. I think Flax Oil is a wonderful supplement when it is good. I would also suggest not buying through the mail, but buying from a retailer than has refrigeration.

I had trouble finding it in stores which is way I resorted to mail order.. couldn't find it in grocery stores.. but I now realize I've been looking in the oils section, and not a refrigerated section.. know of any stores in NY(I'm in western NY now at school) that sell the stuff?

Buy the High Lignan Flax Oil from massquantities.com. That is the best I have ever used. No need to sweat refrideration for the one day mailing process, just be sure to use it up before it expires, fresh is best, and DO keep it cold after opening.

Fats DO go rancid and are savaged by FreeRadicals at room temp.
