nycdefender: Don't you believe, that with modern DNA testing, and modern technology in general, that the men who are getting off of death row are proving that the institution is becoming more efficient. Now, since it is getting to be more efficient, from the start, there is no reason to stop the process now. I see this as a PRO in the death penalty argument, not a CON!!

DNA testing has proved that people are often wrongly convicted. Yes, the DNA evidence will help limit these mistakes in the future, but unfortunately DNA evidence is not always available in murder cases. Often times people are convicted on cirumstantial evidence, or eyewitness testimony which is notorious for being unreliable. Therefore, some mistakes will continue to occur. For this reason I no longer support the death penalty. If there was a sure-fire way to tell if everyone on death row is guilty, I would support it. If someone ever killed one of my loved ones I would want them dead too, but unfortunately, our system is not always perfect.
