Why would girls want to just hang out with guys? There's an ulterior motive there somewhere. If a girl is incapable of having girl friends, then they are not being friendly enough and are scared of rejection. That's why they call other girls bitches, to mask their insecurities.
It's better for guys to have guy friends and girls to have girl friends. Real friends, not girlfriend/boyfriend substitutes.

I'm pretty sarcastic and dark and women dont like that, most dont even get it, I'm a little rough around the edges and get along better with guys, I have a best friend female and male.... have always hung out with dudes, that plus all the BS V correctly mentioned.about most chicks.

yea but every weekend, thats a lot. and its not like its down theroad, its 250miles away. That jus sounds kinda crazy if i were the guy and she was driving all that way every weekend

Uh...no, it means that the girl does not want to put up with the mind games chicks play with each other. The acting all nicey-nicey to your face only to find out that the chick is jealous of your looks, your friendship, whatever. Or that you said something and your chick friend is reading all kinds of meanings into what you said and you didn't even mean anything by it in the first place. Oh and let's not forget PMS. Jesus-the-fuck-Christ, I already have to deal with my own hormones, I don't want to deal with her bitchy ass too.

Most guys don't sweat the small stuff and if something bothers them they will say something, you may argue, but it will end. Women will hold on to it for years.

There are exceptions, always, but in general this is what I have found.

If he respected you, the texts should have been different. No way to tell for sure what his motives were, and could be a giant a misunderstanding; maybe he's a terrible communicator with lousy body language. Whatever the case, if it wasn't all a setup for him to get laid, he'll apologize soon, and explain. It's up to you at that point if you think it's for real or not. With all due respect to the other bros who posted on this, it IS possible for a guy to want to just hang out with a girl. I will say that chemistry is against it though, if both people are straight, and without emotional issues. I can't remember any friendship I've had with an attractive female, where the the thought of more, didn't at least cross my mind.

Bottom line is that if he wants you as a friend (only), he needs to say so, and needs to act so.
