Dumbell Benchpress OR Barbell Benchpress ?

hi guys,
jus wanted some advice on benchpress, i have been doin dumbell benchpress for two months. i started at 40 kgs but i am to 74 kg and not gaining weight anymore. my mates suggested me to change to barbell press and see da difference. Is it true?
 
i use dumbells for most of my training. try changing the weight/reps/sets you're doing. do high weight low rep one workout, then low weight high rep the next. if you've been doing one of these for a while, then just do the other for a couple weeks and get back to your original. try changing angles, palm direction, etc. throw in some lightweight fly burnouts after your sets

They both work well. Barbell you can add weight in smaller increments. Try using it for awhile, if you don't like it then don't use it. Are you using rows, deadlifts, or squats? You need a big back to bench big.

yeh i got big back. i can easily do 120kg squats and luv rows
 
120 is baby weight in the squat if your benching 74 kg dumbells. Up your squat and deadlift and your bench will grow. Also barbell >

I would agree that shouldering dumbell with bench presses shouldn't be that big of an issue. So I would go with the dumbells for better pec development. Next thing is that I need to follow my own advice , LOL

I have trouble handling heavy dumbells especially doing overhead presses
