I too am very skeptical, but I share my story.
When I was a kid, about 10-12, My dad in his early 40's(doctor, in the US) was deathly sick. He spent several weeks at the hospital and saw every specialist that was available. Was moved from hospital to hospital and no one could figure out what was wrong with him. Ran every test imaginable and put him on "shotgun" therapy, basically giving him everything and anything, with no success. He couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, was weak and totally beat by this bug. Literally on his death bed. He left the hospital and came home, with the plan that he would spend his remaining days at home, with his family and the people he loved.
We had an friend who was into psychics, and that type of stuff. She actually worked as a "healer" or whatever. I guess that's what you would call it. She would lay you down, and move her hands over top of your body, without touching, and "cleanse" you. Taking away all the negative energy, and remove all the bad in you.
At this point, we figured it's not going to hurt so we might as well give it a shot.
So she came over, and spend about 6 hours working with my dad. Never touched him. Just moved her hands slowly about an inch over his body and then would shake her hands, as if they were wet and she wanted to shake the water off. She would take breaks about every 20 minutes. She would vomit and weep, during her breaks. Telling us, that she has never seen so much "bad" in one person and that it was taking everything she had to get through this.
After the session was over, my dad said that he felt hope for the first time in a long time. The next day he was feeling stronger than he had in weeks. About 2 weeks later, he was perfectly healthy and back to his usual self. Weaker, tired, and hungary, but on the road to recovery.
Totally, changed my fathers life. A man who was trained in traditional medicine, being saved by voodoo.
