Dimebag Darrel from Pantera is Dead!!!

This a great loss for the Metal/Rock community and for myself Darrell was one of the best and most influential guitarists in the last two decades. I live in Cinci and a couple of friends and I almost drove to Columbus last night to see the show. I'm glad I did'nt now. I am somewhat in shock about this. Dime was one of my guitar heroes and will be greatly missed by me and many others. This is a horrible tragedy and may God be with Darrell's family and friends and all his great fans. R.I.P. Darrell "Dimebag"Abbott!

RIP from a fellow axe slinger. I will have to get fucked up and pick out a few licks tonight when I get home in his honor. It's a fucking shame. It's too bad the shooter is dead. It would have been interesting to find out what his problem was. And then of course, we would kill the fuck.

i'm glad i saw Pantera in 96 when they toured with White Zombie. the show i went to was only a month or so after Anselmo OD'ed. crazy shit.


Layne Staley, Dimebag Darrel.....for me, both are very crushing blows. i think i now know how my dad felt when John Lennon was shot. i was alive then, but not old enough to even know who Lennon was.

Take note that all this happened on the anniversary of John Lennon's killing. December 8.

People here in Dallas are freaking. The brothers were from here and have lots of friends and family. The DJ's, club owners, everyone are FREAKING OUT.

unbelievable. pantera was and always will be the epitome of metal. i still can't wrap my head around this. absolutely unconceivable. strangest shit ever, i sit down at the computer this morning, and RANDOMLY decide it's time for some pantera (the "pantera gym mix" as i've dubbed it) go on aol to check my mail, and FUCK!!!! the headlines, dimebag is dead. i can't fathom this. he is one of, if not THE best, metal guitarist, EVER. PERIOD. i gonna have to have a couple of "black tooth grins" for him this weekend.

Still a bit in shock, and still very sad here. Woke up this morning and stared at my Dimebag poster on the wall. Then had to realize he left this planet just a few hours.

Me and my band are gonna jam on Cowboys from Hell friday.

Needless to say -- my pantera baseball cap will be worn all this weekend in his honor.
