deadlift pr blah blah 635 owned

thanks guys, my goal now is rep work, I want to hit 585 for 5 by the end of the year before I try another max. hopefully by then I'll be good for 655.

Last time I got 615 I was wearing a belt so I guess this was even more satisfying to pull without one.

do you always pull double overhand?
im leaving this up to you but i think it would be beneficial to the board and myself as well if you wouldnt mind posting what you do to build your dead?
 
sure although it's nothing fancy, no conjuated periodization or wave loading or any of the other stuff you 'must' do to get stronger. I dont even have a set training schedule and I usually only do a couple of sets of 4-5 and maybe a backdown of 10 when I deadlift. I'm squatting, 4-5 days off, squat again, 4-5 days off, deadlift, squat, deadlift, squat, squat. And thats it right now :)

Box squats might be helping.. sometimes I do sumo and stiff leg deads to make sure I'm working every muscle, I do them relatively slowly and without the explosive pull I use on conv deads.

I've not worked my upper body for like 2 months now so the extra recovery ability from that must be helping a little :(

Straps.. yeah I pull overhand now because I think a mixed grip weakened my shoulder and led to the blowout & the slight twisting was starting to grind down my back. I'll do partials without straps to keep my grip strong but not full range.

but its mostly just that I have a genetically huge ass and hips, I was pulling 405 for 5 after a year of training...

After seeing that picture I just want to duck out of work and hit the gym now...that is just awesome.

thanks bro..seems pretty simple..i always pull double overhand dont know why i started that way and have stuck with it ever since..

I hear ya on the big ass and hips thing lol..this is my first full year of deads and im really pleased with my lift..im only about a big handle off your best pull lol..anyway thanks for responding need to spread some K so i can hit ya!!

not entirely sure why you posted that but it's all good.. im not ronnie and neither are 99.9999% of ppl on the boards. I'd much rather see vids of B Fold or NS lifting (for 2 examples) because I know that if I push myself hard enough I may be able to reach them on some lifts.. ronnie's achievements are awesome but unattainable even with 10g's of tren and 50iu's of GH every week
 
very true just thought it might amaze you as much as it amazed me. shit i cant nearly as much as you on the deadlift. im around 500, your 635 lbs is quite impressive and now gives me something to shoot for like b fold the truth and ns lifting do to you.

i have to agree with you here. i am the same way! i can own squats and DLs. i could pull 405 in about the same training time. now about 2 years in i can pull 495 for 2. good form too. none of that "i'm dying and will leverage the whole lift with my back."
