I would give my left nut to go back in time to see one of the long haired Lane days concerts in Seattle. Seriously, my left nut for 3 hours of that music and great drugs.

I saw chains 3 times The day layne died I shed tears as this was the end Of one of the greatest days in music history. The man as fucked up as he was took grunge chewed it up and spit it out into what we know as ALICE IN CHAINS never ever to be duplicated

It was a major down day for me also, I'll never forget where I was at when the news came out.

Re: Best concert you have ever seen.............................................. ................................

Had to be my first concert ever which was NiN (a close 2nd was Manson in 1996 or 1997 whenever Antichrist Superstar came out). It was an impromptu concert that only allowed 600 to get in to. It was back in 1995 when two of us just turned 16 in October and the other was 15. There was every demographic you could think of from the typical goth/metalheads who worship Trent, to vampire looking chicks and even people wearing tuxedo's and evening dresses. It was a show for everyone.

As NiN opened with head like a hole, the crowd erupted which then made the entrance of two naked chics behind Trent even better. They were part of the act obviously but they did nothing but dance and make out with each other the entire show which was awesome especially for us since we were so young.

I lost my flanel shirt, my friend lost a shoe, the security crew that took our pipe that we brought scraped the bowl clean before giving it back to us after the show.

It was just fucking awesome

That guy singing in the first vid is smugglin grapes.

Someone said Maynard from tool won't front his music anymore cuz it is personal, well I would say Lane's music is every bit as personal.

LMAO!! that guy!? THAT GUY!!! that guy is one of the most famous people in the world, how about Robert Plant. "The guy" drumming, you may care to know that his name is John Bohnam, one of, certainly the most innovative, the best drummers ever.

The bands tha you know today just didn't pop out of the damn woodwork with their particular styles, they had bands before them. Before Zepplin, the Stones, The Who and the Beatles, they had influences. Like Robert Johnson, Lead Belly, Howling Wolf, Blind Willy Johnson, all of which had much influence over all of the music now known as rock and all it's derivitives.

Mouse and I have had threads dealing with this before, if you like music, you really should have some curiosity as how it evolved into the different types of music that we have today. Looks like we should do it more often.

Anyway, yeah, the guy in the first vid "smuggleing grapes", that's from about 73' I'd guess, it's Robert Plant.

*btw, Maynard from Tool, he'd have known....

Thanks Tex! That Zep video seriosly kicks ass - I really am trying to add that to our setlist. LOL @ some comparing some of the contemporary musicians to players like Page (from like the Yardbirds) and the roots of rock-n-roll...

Every young drummer would give their right nut to be Bonnham, or sing like Plant, or play like Jones or Page.
