Bench equal to Deadlift?

My deads smoke my bench right now by about 210lbs. Seems like in general good deadlifters have weaker benches and versa vice due to the arms. I guess I would have a good reach though in MMA fighting.:)

Well got my deadlift max up to 285 today, so i can no longer say my bench is higher than my deads.

I knew a woman who was a natty benchpress record holder. She was short, like 5'1" or so. Her dead was the suck too. Broad had benched 265 raw, couldn't pull over 150. I'm tall, I have a crappy bench, but I was outpulling her in the second week I did deads. Deadlifts are about body proportions as much as benches are.

What about trying squats?

i cant pull shit... 200x3 gives me problems... but ive always had small legs (not anymore however) and never done squats or deads...

right now im 6'1"
190 @ about 10%
18yrs

Bench: 245x5
id like to know what my 1rm bench is tho... havent tried since my shoulder injury, but before that was 300.. i think i could do it again...

Squat: 200x5
Dead: 190x5

these past 5 weeks was my first time doing squats and deads...

question? how can i get my deads accelerated besides pounding them week by week? any secrets?

Work on form. Honestly, just keep hammering away at them. Focus on them, just like you did to get your bench up. If they don't fatigue you too much, pull twice a week. Box squats really helped me learn how to pull from a much lower position.

i've got like a 75'' reach and can bench 435. my pull is about 100 more than that. i think determination is the biggest factor. if you let your mental limitations be set by your physical statistics, you'll never get where you wanna be.

No real secret it is a marthon not a sprint keep plugging away week in week out and watch the numbers go up. You might want to tose in some rack deads to change things up a bit make sure you are adding to your lift either via rep or weight every week.

Correct you are sir.

I own the iron it does not own me.

i'm one of those benchers too i guess from also not doing many deadlifts in the past.....used to be an "upper body lifter"......still my deads are a oh almost 100 lbs better in correct form....problem is my back gets all twisted easy.....doh!
