Bench equal to Deadlift?

I know this is gonna sound like a dumb question, but here goes anyway. Is bench max being just about equal to deads a common thing. I know the obvious points to undertraining for the deads and its true with a knee injury my lower body has been neglected this year, but as i look at the 1 rep maxs of most people that list it 99% of those have a higher dead than bench press, but i am just the opposite ( my bench an dead are about even). Am i alone on this?

My 1RM for Dead was 300 when I was just toying with them, but I used a Trap Bar, now I use a BB. My best bench ever was 205 and that was on a really REALLY good, focused day with tons of complex carbs that morning lol. I haven't been able to do it since but plan on in 2-3 months able to 3 rep it if 5x5 goes well.

Injuries suck, and will always set you back. I wouldn't be disappointed, just more determined.

Im 5'6 i call it 5'7, 165lbs, 25 years old, training consistantly for the past year. Bench max 270, deadlift max about 265, i know dead max is shit.

You're strong for your weight!

Hmm... maybe your just not made to pull... made to push though, lol

That is peculiar.

I've got 200lbs more for my dead than bench... my bench is at 200x4 for a current max though... 6' ... i was just made to pull.

All we can do is speculate... post up your deadlift routine and maybe we can help you progress at it... although adding bodyweight is the great equalizer at making all lifts go up.

u sure? dude... at 165 lbs benching 270? i'm not trying to be an ass here.. but are u sure ur form is correct? as benching at that, u should be DL-ing 4-500 lbs man!

its easier for shorter people to bench more b/c their arms are shorter. I dunno maybe that has something to do with it?

i can bench 365 and i deadlift 550.... those figures stay pretty much in range....by the end of this cycle i wanna bench 400 and dead ift 6

Bench generally far outpaces the bench. It's the maximum pull your body can muster and it brings a ton of musculature into play. It's highly likely that you just haven't trained it as carefully/frequently as you've trained your bench. What you focus on increases.
