Calling your s/o just to rip into him is definitely some insidious level meanness. It's like rubbing a puppy's nose in a pile of poop, they associate the unpleasant experience more with you than the act of pooping.
That was frequently my actual ulterior motive behind calling my husband to tear him up at work. I had discovered pretty early on that when I called him to bitch at him, he gave me space in the evening. So I took advantage of this behavior if I needed him to be in a state of mind to not question if I was running late coming home from work (the hoops you have to jump through to have an extramarital affair, sheesh).
^^^LMAO!! I hope you boys are paying attention. MM just demonstrated that for any of you who thinks he has his wife or GF figured out, under control, what-have-you, think again Sparky! Chances are if you genuinely feel that way it's because she let you. LOL. So the question then becomes, why?

Ah shit, cat's out of the bag now, I've just broken rule #1 of the Girl Club
Actually, that particular maneuver was just taking advantage of a basic human personality trait, misdirecting someone's attention. Nothing more than what any good salesman, magician or strategist does.

I did it because everything he did pissed me off. Everything. We would growl at each other when we would pass in the hall. I took everything he did personally.
I would blow up on him but shortly after that I wasn't mad anymore. It was just a way for me to vent but it was destructive to our relationship. Pretty sure you can't just keep yelling at someone all day and expect them to still love you just becuase it makes you feel better...lol
I still get angry and wanna call him and just tear into him sometimes and point out to him how he was wrong and show him how he can be right lol!
