Are there any fake tanners that work well?

I am considering stopping tanning salon useage as it takes too long to get a tan for the amount of damage it causes your skin.

So are there any good self applying tanners that work well and leave a natural color and don't rub off on clothes when sweaty?

from what I understand, some of them work OK as long as you have a good base tan. If you're pale and start using fake tanner, you will look orange.

They have self tanning wipes out now. Comes in a bottle like baby wipes, you pull one out and wipe down with it.

Don't know how well they work though. sorry.

I've thought about that, but it doesn't last as long as regular tanning and can be pretty pricey to maintain. That's basically what I want to do is maintain a tan over winter for as little $$ and skin damage as possible. I have more important things to spend my cash on.
