My son and I have started getting into it for the past few weeks and believe me its fun as heck. The time spent shooting, i mean with my son is the best. I see a huge difference in his eyes when we go together. A great bonding experience. I loved it so much i dropped $400 on my gun and made it an automatic. If you havent been, male or female, i highly recommend it. here are some pics from one of the days we went
can you believe my son is only 10 and i am 6'2"? He wont turn 11 till November and he was 1 month early premature. Where does he get it???
where we go its family oriented. there is no field fee because its always on someones private property. you pay $7 a day for air refills, no limit and thats it. you bring your own paint and gear and your set. starts at 9am till dark. you cant beat that.
No such thing as a sniper gun in PB... No matter what gun you got you are shooting a round projectile full of liquid. Accuracy is a myth beyond a certain distance.

yea but certain guns let you crank up the pressure high enough to improve accuracy to a point where a scope is justified, hence a "sniper gun." Even at places where they make you get chrono-d, there are always people with adjustable shit who shoot hot until a ref approaches

the guy in the pic with me and my son has a sniper paintball gun and believe me it works like a sniper rifle. He pegged me in the back of my head from about 40 or 50 yards out as i stood up to run. i couldnt believe it.

Cranking up the pressure on the gun will make the Paintball fly farther but NOT straighter. When the pressure is high, the air hitting the painball makes a dimple in the shell, the paintball does not recover its shape during flight. Now you have a round object full of liquid, going 300fps + with a single dimple on one side. The Paintball can't defy conventional knowledge of aerodynamics. It will not fly straight.

No it doesn't bro, believe me. If it did, he would not need a loader on it holding 200 paintballs. Why 200 rounds if he is so accurate?.. I can see in the pic the guy has a n00b scenario game type of gun. He might have hit you with 1 paintball from that far away, but I bet you money he must have shot at you 5-10 paintballs first to get a reading before the kill shot. I bet even the kill shot didn't come alone, but you heard painballs hitting near and zooming by as you got hit. It was one round out of a rope that hit you.
When you play paintball, you don't sit there and aim down the barrel expecting to hit a one-shot. You unload and keep shooting and then adjust your aim by where the last paintball hit. Thats why the shell is bright colored. So the shooter can see the ropes of paint coming out his barrel and adjust his aim.
the length of the barrel means very little when it comes to accuracy. The only real benefit to the longer barres is that they help you aim because the tip is long.
The only true way a barrel can help with accuracy is with a matching bore size. All painballs are suppose to be .68 cal. But they are not. It is a gelatin shell with liquid in them. Consistency to .68 cal is almost impossible. The only thing true is that paintballs will all be consisten in being incosistent... Meaning a whole batch of paintballs cam be .685 or even .691 ...
So while this box and batch that you are playing with today may be all consistently .691 , your barrel might not be... So any good player keeps 3-4 barrels on hand, all of them with a different bore size. Some for large paint, others for tight paint. And you never really know what kind you will be playing with, until you open your first box of paint for the day.
The length means shit. It is what the barrel is made of and how the bore size matches with the paint on hand that day.
Word...to an extent. Without getting too deep into this, due to already enough flamage for some fucked up reason, there are many types of play styles and guns to suit them. My bro has a bi pod setup with a laser sight, another a red dot scope, I guess it's for shits and giggles...seriously. I could go on for hours here, nice and in depth. However, this thread looked simple enough, why start arguing about stupid shit. I've been paintballing for 10+ years, and have 3 paintball dealers/suppliers in my immediate family. Lets get serious, leave the childish, argumentative bullshit out of it. Rock on bigmann, keep on keepin it real with your son bro!
