Anyone ever strain lower abs?

WTF is this? I'm 99% sure it's not a hernia, no bumps at all. But it's painfull as hell all across my lower ab's. I think I did it doing seated overhead press with db's. Anyone ever get this? I'm gonna see my doc tomorrow, I'm praying it's not hernia(s).

Are you 'on' by any chance?

I know on oral winny, at first, I get some pain in what i believe is my liver area that goes away after a few days.

BTW.. is this common? LOL

I'm on, but only test cyp, nothing else. It's definitely from going nuts in the gym the other day but I don't know which exercise did it. I guess it's a moot point now. Damn this pisses me off!!!! :kaioken:

I get this too sometimes. Usually from forced reps on heavy curls and overhead pressing too. Its definitely not a hernia if it hurts on both sides. My lower abs are starting to fill out nicely though since I started these additional forced reps.

I had a similar experience last year when i was cutting. I was doing a lot of crunches and i got the worst pain in my lower abs. I asked a couple of the guys there and they said it was probaly a cramp from an electrolyte imbalance. Anyways it hurt for a couple days and then i was fine. Are you taking a lot of ECA, Clen?

I've pulled an ab muscle before, and I can tell you that it is one of the most painful experiences in the world.

One way to tell if it is in the muscle and not in the liver, stomach, etc... is by when you feel it. When I was suffering, I felt it in every movement. Breathing, Coughing, urinating, and anything else that required core balancing. If this is the case I would avoid working abs, or any compound movements that require your balance (i.e. BO rows, deadlifts, standing bb curl, etc...). Hopefully if you ice the area and let it go for a day or two you will be okay. If it is a pull or worse, it could take a little longer than that.

Thanks for the input to all who responded. I spoke to the doc today and although he didn't give me the 'nut-feel', he said it wasn't hernia but rather muscular in nature. I guess that's good news but it still hurts like a mutha and seems like a fairly serious injury as it also bothers me in my lower back and inside of my upper hips. I'll take a few days off and pound the protein.
