you guys are crazy. I have been in the gym forever (seems like) and when I benched 260 I felt like I was the man. It is truly amazing that you can lift 300 plus pounds and anyone on here that can do that is in an elite class I promise you that. Everyone I know is trying to get 250 or 270 tops . All I can say is there is some strong mo fos on here and I hope I dont cut any of you off in traffic one day.

Sorry bro, this one made me laugh. I do realize that less than 5% of all the men on the planet can bench over 250, but in my gym we have at least 10 guys that are repping with 350. For example my last heavy chest day was 250x15, 285x12, 325x10, 375x6, and 405 for 3. BTW i'm at 208 right now.

Satch, there is no try! Just do that shit and get it over with!

Is that a fact that less than 5 percent of all men on the planet can bench over 250?

I always find it funny when subjects like this come up, guys start tossing out huge numbers of what they can lift, and for the most part, I dont buy it for a second. I've seen pics of some guys on here, and believe they can move the big numbers. But then I see pics of dudes with no pecs to speak of, talking about pushing weights that all the huge fuckers I know(myself included) couldnt touch. Just like the how big are your arms threads, everyone on the internet has 20" guns.....funny how it works out that way....
I would love to see some pics and/or videos to back some of these claims up....

Well, I'm not one of those guys NS. I don't think putting up 315 off-cycle is that impressive for a guy my size, especially considering bench is one of my better lifts. I sure as hell wish I could hit 405 though, that goal will be a long time coming I think... unless maybe I can harvest your muscle and use it for myself? :)

well, I am above the 250 range for men that dawgy talked about. I benched 430 with a shirt. never did 315 for 15 reps. My best was 225 for 28 reps, weighin in at 217

man i feel like the end of this cycle will get me there...

i put up 270x4 quite easily..

but 315x1 is still a struggle.
thats the only thing thats been on my mind for the last few hours...
anyhow, just thought i'd share.

Shit bro! From the looks of your avi, you look like you should be reppin' 345!
Keep at it! Alot of it's just in your mind. I was stuck at 300 for a long time. Couldn't get passed it. So without me knowing it, my spotter popped on 315 and I thought I was pushin' 300, and I hit it!
I know it could have been a little dangerous, him doing that, but he would have been there for me if there would have been a problem.

Sounds like some haters are calling B.S. on some of the claims on this thread. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I don't lie about lifts. I just don't see the payoff in claiming to be able to lift this and that, and then hit the gym and not be able to perform. I pride myself on being strong, and I take that pride pretty seriously. I wasn't a talented bencher to start with, and it didn't happen for me overnight. I started training when I was 19, and I just "celebrated" my 36th birthday. I stand by my 315x15 claim. I think it's pretty damn good considering my currently clean status, and bodyweight of 245 pounds......
