I need some help bros. I will be going on Spring Break in about a month. The problem is that I still have bad acne on my back & shoulders.

I researched some and for the past month here is what I have been doing:

1. Wash twice per day w/anti-bacterial soap & nizoral.
2. Tan for 15 minutes 3-4 days per week.
3. Started sleeping in a different T-shirt every night (to cut back on oil, etc. on sheets)
4. Drinking plenty of water
5. Have been taking 1 Minicyclon (sp?) pill per day.

Although these have helped greatly, I still have bad acne that won't go away and occasional new ones that appear!

Does anyone have any advice/secrets that I can add to help get rid of this stuff fast???????:(

what really helped my reduce acne was arimidex or liquidex while on a cycle. run heavy gear without acne. Also Accutane is suppose to work wonders on acne, do a search on it.

good luck.

Believe it or not I went to the dermatologist and the first thing he said was use Safeguard Soap (the white not the beige) and it worked wonders for me i also hit my back with an astringent about twice a day..the dryer your skin is the less acne.

Accutane - I have considered that, but trying to use as a last resort due to $$$. Sounds great however.

Safeguard white soap - that's a new one to me, but worth a try.

Keep 'em coming guys.....

Thanks

i use low dose accutane to keep clear, but that may not be an option for you right now. the only other thing i can think of other than your 5 above, is showering AT the gym. if i wait the 5-15 minutes till i get home to shower, my back becomes a mess--i think placing my back against the car seat w/ all that sweat and oil further aggravates things. u want to get that sweat, oil, bacteria off your skin as soon as possible after exercising--so shower at the gym and get into a clean shirt asap. good luck bro, i know how much that sucks.

Try pantothenic acid (vitamin B-5) at 10 grams a day for the first 2 weeks then back off to 5 grams. Really seems to help me!!!

I agree try the B5. Get off the antibiotics bro, Minocyclin can do some serious damage long term. I was on for a couple of years and lost the ability to digest wheat. You can view a listing of reporting side affects from people on this and other antibiotics in this database:

Thanks again for the replies. I'll try that. I got a couple of good PM's so these should all be helpfull.

I wasn't aware of the negatives concerning Minocyclin - glad you pointed that out.

Slam 10 G's of B5 a day.

Do that until it gets better.

Also,

Be careful to not scrub TOO MUCH. More is NOT better when it comes to cleansing. Cleanse, cleane, but dont irritate the skin. Scrub LIGHTLY, VERY LIGHTLY, if you clean 2x a day.
