That I don't know yet. Right now I'm deciding if I want to call for an interview.

I do hear my friend complain about having multiple bosses (some female) who constantly want different things and complain and sometimes fuss just to look like they are doing something.

My current job is stress free.

Anybody here have a govt. job? rnch ? Is it a pain-in-the-butt at times?
(lol rnch and pain-in-the-butt in the same sentence)

I worked a gov job once... I did not like it... but liking your job is so environmental - who you work for, the department, etc...

There were some great benefits, at the time - including some pension that is unheard of anywhere else. BUT - I saw these peeps there that were in there late 40's - early 60's and they were all just hanging on for retirement. It was sad because they really weren't making that much money - sure they'd be comfortable - more some that some peeps.

But it just seemed sad... kinda pathetic. I want more for myself.

That's why I hang out @ EF.

I would take #2...but im the type who will never enjoy working and views an occupation as nothing more than a paycheck.....I work for the State (local govt) and I get paid great, have 4 weeks of vacation a year(started off at 2 ) and great medical/dental/ prescription insurance.

This is true. The people I know don't like their job much. They're always complaining about the lazy coworkers and bosses.

But you should think of where you will be in 5 years or so with the current job. You have a "cool boss" now, but will that change? Where will you be in 5 years? Same position or posssibly higher with more pay/responsiblility? Same with the new job...

You don't seem like you "need" the money, maybe it isn't as easy as we think.

5 years... Answer!

Also, you said you have a retirement plan at the current job too? If so, that's hard to give up, even if you'll get one moving to the govt. job.

Good luck ass.

I have been at my current job for 10 years and although I do not currently make as much as I could starting out at the other job, I gradually get raises & bonuses and will continue to do so.....with the government job I will eventually "top out" paywise.

Money really isn't a big deal, more of a plus than neccessity. Although who doesn't want more money?

My current boss is President & Founder of the company, so I doubt he is going anywhere.

I'm not a people person so one of my worries is dealing with coworkers and multiple bosses.

They both have pros and cons, I just do not know what to do.

I'll probably end up sticking around here so I can entertain beastboy on EF
