Whats the average figure of carbs per lb of bodyweight needed for lean mass gains?

Can any1 give me a ball park figure of how many grams of carbs we should be consuming per lb of lbm to gain clean muscle.I have heard 2.5 grams per lb is a good starting point?I figure Id times this by what I weigh now and try to split it in my first 4 meals wich are berfore 6pm and I should be on a good start to gain some good lean mass?I have all protein needs in check but just need to tweak the carbs a bit more to see better lean gains. Can any1 help me out here with some numbers will send K your way. :chomp:

I notice when I stick to stuff like brown rice, oatmeal, stuff like that my gains are a lot cleaner than eating a lot of bread and sugars.

Yea, very important to take in low glycemic carbs, not just anything that has carbs on the label..

Yeah all i eat is oatmeal, brown rice and dark breads and vegies but eat all my carbs before 6pm because my last 2 meals are mainly all protein and I am in bed by 10pm and up around 7am.K coming your way.

i agree 2.5 is a good point for me at least -- it will vary from person to person and based on how ecto/endo you are. And as mentioned, make sure they are low GI carbs mostly.

I am like termie, I take in about 3500cal/day just for maintenance, and that's at a bodyweight of only around 180. 300g's of protein, that's 1200 cals. So i'm getting 2300 more cals minimum from fat and carbs, probably 500 or so from carbs at least, and half of those are simple sugars from juices, soda, pop-tarts, cereal, etc. I never get higher than about 11-12% bf on this, and as soon as I clean my carbs up I tend to lower the overall cals and I lose weight. Sucks sometimes doesn't it term? :)

I've eaten as much as 5g's per pound of bodyweight, I did this for a sustained period of time too. I got stuck at 240 though eventually, i had never touched anything at that point though.
