Great post, and I agree completely. I would like to hear more of this "grease car". How easy is the conversions process, works on any car? I also heard from somewhere that all deisel car's can run on vegetable oil...huh

Boston is similar now, most take the train or get a Zip car for the weekends. I have reverse commute out to the burbs, otherwise I would dump my cars.

I save a bundle by driving my saturn..33mpg. Better than my dodge ram with the hemi that gets 13 or 14mpg.

negative sir. You convert the car to run solely on veggie oil. My buddy did it to an old Mercedes diesel. No buy no gas no more!

That's a big negatory, MM. You only need to crank and idle on diesel for about 2 minutes (to allow the veggie oil to heat), then switch back to diesel for about 1 minute at the end of your trip. One gallon of diesel lasts me about 1500 miles.
