What is the best martial arts for self defense?

Instead of getting leaner and meaner, when not just run for your life and live to run another day?

Or masturbation? Sure, it's not a great fighting art; but after a five minute session...no one will want to fight you. And some guys might even be turned on! Be a lover not a fighter.

lol

dude, you're asian. You're genetically a fighter :p

no form of muay thai or kickboxing uses a belt system...

muay thai is an internationally recognized art...the system would remain the same no matter where you are.

maybe some mcdojo gym might do that, but that's about it.

although I would not word it that way, what you say is true.

What? I'm a black sistah from the south side of Philly! Asian? Where did you get that shit? <snap snap>

BTW, I'm telling you masturbation is a great fighting art. If someone comes on you, do you still want to continue fighting or just run away to wash it off?

MT and kickboxing are sports not arts per se so therefore no belts. just win or lose.

remember the belt system (kyu/dan) comes from mainland Japan and started with Judo then karate adapted it. The man who invented TKD had some karate training and also adapted the belt system.

Best way to get out of a fight. Start acting all gay and u wanna fight.

No one wants to be seen beating up a a queen at a club. Guys fight to impress chicks (stupid caveman ones). This won't do it. :)

careful what you read on EF about martial arts though because there is less than one handful of peeps who train in "martial arts" and maybe a couple who train in "fighting arts" the rest are so full of shit it aint funny. it really is one topic that should not even be discussed on elite fitness. :)

Were did CroCop learn to kick like that? (I know he was a kick boxer, but did he study karate/TKD)

Did Chuck learn high kicks in Kempo?

Really? Why not? I thought that my masturbation style fighting technique was PG enough for the people around here.

hmm...

I come from an entirely different background bro...I used to fight for a living for some time...I trained in a dojo with my trainer who had a 5th degree black belt in kickboxing...I dnt know what that would be ranked in Canada, as you're telling me there are no belts used....but I have seen guys fight in Canada and it's not much different. Only difference is in Canada, they are a lot more reserved. Back home, fighters are just vicious, raw, and unrelenting. I respect all fighters though. I've learned not to judge a book by it's cover and certainly not to judge a fighter by the way he looks. One other thing. I have learned that sometimes the easiest way to solve a dispuse on who's fighting is better is to throw down a fight. That always seemed to work well for me.
