Now that deadlifts are out for a while, I use weighted hyper extentions. Up to 160lbs at arms length for reps. Unless I can find a way to hold more plates. Doesnt seem to be working lately though, cuz Ive been pulling out my back on a regular basis! Looking back deadlifts seemed to be a waste in my training. They were alot of fun though, but too many injuries and not enough size increase to make them worthwhile for me. Adding plates became the addiction. Ill be focusing on heavy upper back work now for a while along with the hypers and weighted ab work to keep the core strong. I got NO measurable upper back size from deads as Ive mentioned. My waist and traps increased but thats about it. Couldve done that with hypers and shrugs, without all the injuries.
