No. The previous dinners were paid for by the respective parties. Meaning everyone paid for their own. Even the teachers.

No, but in retrospect (ain't hindsight great!) a simple "Thanks for the party" would have been less confrontational.

Again, in the grand scheme of things, this is way lower on the list than Emily Post telling children to write Grandma a Thankyou note.
