Your wife has to work with these people.
To the extent you made her life more difficult, you should have kept your opinion to yourself.
(Although I agree with you in principle).

Your principles are right but your timing really sucked. LOL!!!

I would love to have been there. I agree with you, but I would have fucked with you hard for about ten minutes.

That is a sad remark.

Your convictions only mean something when it is inconvenient to stand by them.

In one respect I agree with you, on another I don't. Of course we shouldn't be paying for everyone to have a happy little luncheon, but these are the people that are teaching our children, these people go there because it is what they love and they get satisfaction from helping out the community in some form. Perhaps instead of voicing your opinion you could have just given your money to either those in charge of the dinner or donate the money to the school.

I don't see anything wrong with rewarding teachers and their spouses for the effort they put in.

As you know, most spouses help make some sort of sacrifice
because their wife/husband is a teacher.
Whether it's time with them, physically helping with the subject that they teach, and sometimes, many times actually, helping financially, in buying supplies and the like.

Maybe you missed the part where I AM married to a teacher. They deserve a lot more than they get, but that is not the way to go about it.

My wife has taught three different grades. Each year we spent over 500.00 per grade level for supplies, etc.

You want to help the teachers. Take the fucking 600.00 that was going to go to the spouses and give each teacher a stipend to spend in their classroonm.

WHAT??

I gave my money to the cashier. I pay a millage rate of 24 mils in my county and we don't have kids. I think I pay my share.

Corn...

For a long time I did not really agree with you... I guess on some things I still don't. But this thread has changed my mind about you.

Did your wife marry you for the guy you are.. or for some punk ass pussy?? Are your social beliefs sooo weak you will take the back seat???

NO!! They are not.. you proved this... so wether or not you like me.. you have just earned my respect.

It takes a man to face the music.. it takes nothing to hide.

If you are gonna make a change.. no matter what it is.. do somthing. Find a purpose, and fight for it. But whatever you do.. don't do nothing.

That's why my statement includes "As you know".

I know all about the extra expenses associated with teaching.

I have a friend that taught for 8 years, and another that is going through her student teacher assignment before graduating this year.

You aren't the one "inconvienced".
Your wife was, and she wasn't consulted.
I'm not trying to pick an argument, in the grand scheme of things this is a gnat.
