Ultimate Fighter, Season 2

I'm wondering how good Melvin's competition has been up to this point. For having a record like he said he had, I didn't see any ground game or much in the way of standup, even before he broke his hand. And I think I saw maybe 1 or 2 kicks. He talked so much shit, I expected more.

I was sad to see Melvin go... He is quick, explosive and his natural athleticism was pretty impressive. He gave his back 3-4 times and got out of it. Too bad he did not get a chance to hone his skills. If he continues, he would dominate a fighter like Burkman. He did not seem to get his shit together until the 3rd round... he should have been sprawling and keeping the fight on their feet. If it was pure standup he would have destroyed Burkman. Burkman did the blanket attack... 3 rounds of blankets with little to no offense. I thought the ref should have stood them up... there were times when Burkman was doing absolutely nothing. At least Melvin had 2-3 choke attempts.

Herb Dean is the same Ref that permited the Lay and Pray of Koscheck vs Leben
but I thought this guy was way bussier then Koscheck was
I also think Melvin did alright, his gameplan seemed pretty solid

I seen Melvin fight in person, and whooped some dudes ass in seconds, but the comp in TUF is alot higher, his athletic ability is very high. If he adds some more technical stuff he'd be a well rounded fighter and tough to beat.

What is with these guys?!?!? Is it just me, or do a majority of these guys selected NOT want to be on the show? Rob sure seemed to want to leave, and didn't seem sad about losing.

I was impressed by Brad; for a guy his size, I thought he did quite well, and moved that 262 around pretty quick.

I don't know about you but my cable company (Adelphia) cut off just before the fight began - leaving me pissed off as hell.

It seems they need to do a better job of psychologically screening contestants for the show because these whining, no heart guys are a bore to watch. I don't mind the ego's because that goes with the territory but the lack of discipline coming in 18 lbs over your weight class is just stupid.

Melvin is young and very athletic - a few years of maturation and training and he will be a force to be dealt with. "Doesn't play well with others" comes to mind.

Brad is the only heavyweight I see being worth a shit and he's been training like 18 months tops...He also trains under Carlos Garcia...Granted Carlos has had alot of fights, I've seen him get his ass kicked probably 7 times at live shows. He's only won maybe 1 that I have been to....

how can you make that statment about the hw's after only seeing 2 episodes?

I agree, I think Keith may be the winner out of the HW.

I can't believe that dumbass Marcus, thought he could make a wrestler box with him. Franklin should have put the kybosh on that match up.

I watched episode 4 last night. Anyone see it too? The fight at the end was pretty brutal. Lots of elbows to this guy's head. I won't say who it was because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen this episode yet. One thing that is kind of irritating is how much the show focuses on just certain people, especially Jorge. Maybe the other guys are boring, I don't know, but I'd like to see some of the other guys and hear what they have to say.
