Ultimate Fighter, Season 2

Finally caught the last two episodes last night; I think Joe is a force to be considered--I was impressed with the "monkey drill" (BJJ drill, not sure of the name) and his ground skills.

I think either:

1) Jorge was hurt worse than he let on, and couldn't fighting well, or

2) He's overrated. For a guy with a BB in BJJ and a "pro" MT fighter, he should have destroyed Jason. Excellent fight, either way, and I thought Jason fought well.

I had company over, and didn't catch was kind of experience or training Jason has....anyone?

Hey Mike, if you're a Jason fan, check out www.sherdog.net and go to their MMA forum, and TUF forum section. Jason himself posts there , and has links to his site and his myspace account. He is extremely down to earth , and posts just like any other person there.

I was very impressed with Jason, he never quit, and constantly put the pressure on Jorge. Jorge said his knee "popped" twice during the fight, but he had his chance on the ground a couple times and failed. Hats off to Jason.

That fight was kinda weird. Looked like slow motion. Good non-stop action though. But jorge seemed to talk to much shit for getting his ass beat the way he did. Just like that black dude in the beggining. Talked to much and got beat. If your gonna talk the talk then walk the walk. Cause in the end you just look like a pussie.

Look for the fights before the episode tomorrow. Drew Fickett is facing Koscheck. He trains in the same place I do... great guy, very experienced. Lost a close one to Nick Diaz recently.

I hope Fickett wins, because I really don't think Koscheck is that great of a fighter (just my un-experienced opinion); he seems very one-dimensional.

I thought I saw that Leben was fighting, too.....also one-dimensional. They need to put these guys up against opponents that have BOTH a stand up and ground game.

I have a feeling Drew will win, either with a rear naked (he has submitted a ton of guys with that) or some other submission... His Ju Jitsu is pretty fucking good... but if it goes to the cards, I think it will be bad for Drew. The UFC is really trying to push Koscheck and if it is close, I see Josh getting the nod.

As for Leben, he is fighting Dewees. Dewees is out of AZ too. He is pretty well rounded. Although, he seems to have had some set backs lately. He fought Franklin and got pummeled.

Right now, I am:

1) Not at work for the next week,

2) Indulging in some pizza and ,

3) Watching the fights on Spike TV for the next few hours.

Life is good :supercool

Interesting night of fights!

Well, my views:

1) I have to give Koshceck a bit more credit...is he a great grappler, and has class. I bet he was on fire inside after that loss. On a side note, if you watch close, he actually tries to tap out, but goes unconscious AS he's tapping. Drew got that rear naked choke on fast and tight.

Drew did a great job, looks like he gave %100 the whole 3 rounds. He got lucky with the knee (or was it just a tired kick?), and I hope he doesn't let it go to his head.

2) I have to give Leben a LOT more credit. I thought he'd get his ass handed to him by Dewees. Leben capitalized on the arm, and fast. So the guy does have ground skills after all---and forwardly admits he's still a brawler. Good on him!

3) Loiseau is an animal! Those elbows are vicious, but what I was really impressed with was his kicking speed and power. Most guys throw one or two, and hope they catch a guy off-guard. I was blow away at how fast his front leg roundhouse was.

Pretty good ground defense, too. I thought he was done after Tanner had his back.

Between him and GSP I don't know who my fav Canuck is. I think Franklin may have his hands full if it goes between him and Loiseau for a title match.

...And as for TUF2 Episode....pretty good fight! Like Loiseau, I was impressed with Seth's kicks. Landed that spinning hook kick nicely! Both guys gassed out at the end, but I don't blame them.

I think Team Franklin was pretty happy with everything at the end of the day.
