I agree with you. It is a means to the end of me increasing my overhead press to a degree. I just never feel like I am in a dog fight when I am benching. I do when I squat, GM, or pull.

I hear ya B, Like any tool, it can be really effective when applicable, but can dull with overuse... I personally feel it is good for a strong lockout and overall stress of the upper body muscles, almost condtioning one to get use to heavy loads

Agree...hence why I am sticking with the use of bands...to overload the lockout.

Gosh...I have to stop using the word hence...people are gonna start to think that I have a brain. I need to go hide my degree...lol.

Well B Fold. . .you have proven that the bench press is not necessary for winning competitions.

Your hip and pressing strength is amazing. I agree though. . .I don't see much use for the bench press in your sport. . now the incline press is a different story.

I've been hitting the inclines pretty hard, with bands, now for a few months. Hope it pays off and I can hit a 330 log press soon on my ugly log. I'd like to get 350 x 5 on the Viking Press too.
