I just use my phone for that. I don't think I would like having to lug around that thing everywhere.
lug it around? The ipad feels like it weighs the same as my droid or a regular book...

it was clearly designed for women (women like anything with pads, especially if it has wings). If fits clearly into a purse. Guys have no idea how to carry that sucker around and it gets annoying when typing. Plus looks geigh when using it - netbooks and laptops still rule in the hetero guy it world.

I bought my son, who is 13 and itterally has everything, an 850.00 Ipad. It's wireless, 3G or something too and has 64 mb memory. I don't know all what it does but I hope it's good. I bought a keyboard too, it was laying there and it appeard to be something that people wanted. We asked around to friends that had Ipads, they said that when we travel, my son plays in baseball tournaments 10 months out of the year, he can watch Netflix vids, he likes FB and do other things while we travel. I hope that it's true, atleast to some degree...

cool! I was told that you buy the 3G when you need it on a month to month basis type of thing, other than that, you can use the wireless in your home or hotel. I'm going to show my ignorance here and my age, so your driving down the hiway say, the 3G allows you to use air time to get on-line or to watch a movie? You don't have to be sitting still is what I'm asking.
I have NO idea as to hoew all this works, I'm WAY to old and busy to keep up with this shit. So for all yall laughing at the ol' TxB, I say " Bite ME!" lol

AHH! TY Cindy Lou Who, it sounds like he may have some fun with it and us as well. When we travel to his ball games, I stay in suites so he has his own room and TV, now he can watch movies fo his choice, check his FB page, etc.
Hey, another question, it will have a way to download pics from our camera, yes? I ass-u-me it has a USB port?

good. Because my "Daddy model" requires me to BUY new shit about that time frame. I guess Xbox will be obsolete soon, so will Black Opps, so there's 2 more things. My son uses 250.00 bats, cleats are 100.00+, they are replaced from season to season. Luckily his expensive 200.00 glove lasts a couple of years. New phone, this Kinect thing for the Xbox will have more/better games, surely the Ipod will be the next thing to go....

staggered toy releases...never two brand new toys released at the same time etc...always something new and outrageously expensive with only a minor upgrade. I keep thinking the tech glitches and shoddy construction will catch up to them but people keep buying...

He's our only child, he the most funny, loving and kind kid, he never complains about anything, he makes straight A's in school, does all his homework w/o us asking, helps around the gouse and never says an unkind word. He is a TREMENDOUS athlete, plays baseball very well and enjoys that kind of thing as well. I/ we didn't deserve a child like him, we deserved the snotty nosed, backtalking, asshole kid that no one likes to be around. But we got him somehow. We give him many things, but he isn't spoiled or bratty with anything we give him. he won't even tell the other kids when he gets really cool things because he doesn't want to look like he's braging, They come to the house and there is a 42" flatscreen, Ipod deck with all the toys hooked up to it and say " You have whteever! AND that TOO!!" he just says, yeah and lets them play while he watches.
OK, that's enough of that, I'm a Dad and I love my son dearly....... did I mention that he's VERY handsome. lol His mom is gorgeous, latin, dark complexion, and he looks alot like her.
Its really good to hear a guy talk about his kid like that.
You're an awesome dad.My boys are a lot like that, responsible, excellent in school, funny as hell. I can't give them much, but they don't seem to mind. I did, however, get them a playstation 3 this year and they are gonna freak out when they open it.
I love my ipad, I download books and use it for notes and stuff. My kids love the games on it, so I think your son will like it.
