The Gym According to Dial_tone

LOL

Yesterday afternoon my first day back after a 2 week layoff for a trip to the hospital so I took it easy.

The trainer (who was training some skinny guy about my age with waaaaaay too much money apparently and not nearly enough manhood thanx to his PT) asked if I was done with the 25 # dumbbells as his client needed them to do a set of bicep curls. My response? "They are all yours, brutha." as I picked up and proceeded to curl the 30 #s.

:D

God, how I luv it when that happens.

you really said brutha? you guys have 30s? I thought it went 10,25,35,45

Lat pulldowns are by far the most commonly fucked up exercise.

Dont most people realize it is NOT an arm workout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and I LOVE the quarter rep sqautters.

:)

I saw this guy doing cable crossovers for chest. I don't even know where to start in describing this one. He's probably 5'10", 170, fairly normal build. He's got the pin damn near the bottom of the stack. He grabs the cables, jumps up and dives forward into position. Now, I promise you, he's leaning so far forward he's in a pushup position. His chest is about 1 foot off the ground. The weight of the stack is whats keeping him off the ground. So he's got each cable, each hand basically right on his pec, elbows completely bent, and he's moving his hands in about 6 inches on each rep....bobbing his head and using his bodyweight to lift it. It was the single most ridiculous thing i've seen in 26 yrs of lifting. I wanted to go over and kick him in the nuts.

That is better than the guys who use the hammerstrength pull downs for cardio. They will get under it, while standing, and do alternating arms with no weight or maybe a 2.5 or 5 lbs plate and do like 100 reps for each side.

#4. Why train legs? With all these badass tattoos on my 15" guns nobody will notice them anyway, especially if I wear long workout pants.

what, my #4, 5, and 6 aren't good enough for your list? :(

wait a second here....i've got badass tattoos on my 15" guns, but i wear shorts (and was wearing sweats in the winter sometimes), and i DO work legs.

then i must be one hell of a serious lifter ;)

actually, havn't had any new ink in 5 years and been really wanting to get some work done for a while now. i had all my ink before i started lifting though.

4. Calves do not have to be any larger than 13" provided your arms are over 16".

5. Your max bench must exceed your max squat by at least 50lbs or else you don't have a clue as to what you are doing.

6. Deadlifts are a waste of time. Guys that deadlift are just plate hogs.

are those 3 acceptable to your list DT?

Now they are.
