Stop Kidding Yourselves!

Okay, here's this weeks pet peeve.

I'm tired of hearing people who say "MY GOAL IS...."

Shut the fuck up!

I don't want to hear that you want to gain 20 pounds or get your bodyfat to 8% or any other lofty nonsense.

YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE GOAL AND ONE GOAL ONLY -- BUILDING MUSCLE!!!

Bodybuilding is about having as much muscle and as little fat as possible. That's a lifestyle. It encompasses training, eating right, supplementation and anabolic enhancement. They all work toward the same goal. Stop this bullshit about one cycle to lower bodyfat and the next cycle to gain lean muscle and the next cycle to grow 2" on your dick. Just lift the fucking weights and don't shove crap in your mouth and the rest will take care of itself.

There's no way of knowing how much muscle you'll grow at any time. What's the difference? Just keep going.

And if you're going to use supplements, use good ones and stick to it. Don't take an occasional pill now and then and expect miracles. I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say a supp doesn't work and they didn't even finish the bottle. You must keep your body saturated with these compounds. Natural ingredients have short "half- lives." You need to take them every day.

This is a lifetime pursuit. Keep doing it and you will get better. But stop kidding yourself that it's a detailed plan that requires going from step A to B to C until the end result is perfection. It doesn't work that way. Make the goal to be as good as possible. ALL THE TIME.

A note to newbies-- when you cycle, the results will be the same -- only better and faster. Anabolics enhance. But if you've got nothing to enhance you will surely be disappointed so don't waste your time and money.

Get real or get out. This stuff is serious.

just b/c u want to get the biggest possible, you should always have goals for yourself. i like to do this with weights as well. i.e. i want to 1x bench 300lbs but don't want to stop there, this is just a point i want to strive for at the moment. once i get 300lbs the goal moves up, then i reach the new goal, it goes up.....on and on. GOALS ARE GOOD make them and break them......set them higher.

You and miplank are both missing the point. I'm not saying you shouldn't have goals. But when they become specific expectations it's unrealistic and ultimately useless. The goal should be to be better. Period.

What if someone is more than happy with their weight and just wishes to retain what they have while dropping bodyfat...

Yes diet but no one can drop only fat when on a calorie restricted diet. Anabolics do help.

Not everyone is the same and as MMW has said, just cause your goals are to add muscle, doesn't mean his are.

Im not sure why you would say not to have specific goals. A sense of accomplishment is good for the mind and soul. I think your philosophy works well with studying the bible, but not the physical activity of lifting weights and bettering yourself. Just my opinion.

AMEN Bro! It is a lifelong pursuit. If you're a bodybuilder then your goal should be to get big, ripped and symmetrical. If you are a power lifter or strong man competitor your goals should be to get stronger.

You can't predict the results of any cycle accurately. It's not only the compounds it's the whole ball of wax, training, nutrition (which I think is the 2nd most important element), gear and recovery which go hand in hand. The gear helps you recover faster. It's not magic. I see too many bros that only focus on the gear and seem to forget the rest.

I met a guy in my gym last yr and he was asking me what I took. When I told him 500mg Test-E and 400mg Deca/wk he thought I was full of shit. He was about 6 ft tall and 185 lbs. He told me he was taking 1.5 grams Test-E per wk, and 800mg wk of EQ, along with 50 mg Dbol ED and he hadn't been off cycle in 5 yrs and couldn't gain shit.

I told him I though he was taking way too much gear. I have never taken that much gear in 1 cycle in my life. I tried to explain it isn't the gear that makes all the difference. When we got into the conversation of training, nutrition and recovery he was way over training and under eating. When I pointed this out to him he wanted to argue that it was his genetics and he was a hard gainer and no matter what he did he couldn't get any bigger.

I finally gave up and told him, well I guess you're right Bro. I must not know shit because I'm only 5' 9", 265, 8% B/F and have had a pro card for nearly 20 yrs. I guess I must just be lucky and left him alone.

The moral of the story and the MOST important ingredient Nelson didn't mention here is...Have an OPEN MIND. Make it a point to try to learn something new about the lifestyle everyday. Read this board and others, read a few books on training, nutrition, supplementation and AAS and talk to us vets that have been around for yrs.

Nelson's right, stop kidding yourself.

I never set goals. (Goals mean you have set a limit on yourself)
I break barriers.

goals are not limits but stepping stones.......goals are meant to be broken. people don't say, my goal is 20lbs and not an oz more. they are just stating they want to reach AT LEAST that 20lb marker, then they reset their goals after breaking previous one.

My goal is to be like Nelson Montana!

What should my cycle look like?

B-

Primo/Unleashed and 100mg of oral complaints! JK Nelson.

Seriously though, I don't ever set goals in ANYTHING. That way I am never disappointed. And it feels PHENOMINAL.

how about...

"I just want to get tone"

yea.. how about that one..

'I have been going to the gym for two years, weights and cardio. I am currently 120 lbs and I want to weigh 108 lbs like I did five years ago. How do I lose 12 lbs?'

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I get what you are saying Nelson, I never would have imagined that I could weigh 70 kg/150 lb+ and not look like a huge fat blob.

If someone doesn't have a goal then what are they training for? Building muscle and getting huge is way too vague imo. Just as in life, if you don't set goals then you will be just average just like 95% of the people in the world. Short term goals and long term goals are very key imo for life. I have them set up and I Look at them everyday. :)

+1

I like setting specific goals. Weight, BF%, Lifting, etc.
Everytime I meet a goal it gives me extra motivation to keep going and set new goals. My last goal was to fit into size 38 jeans. 2 Days ago I met that goal, feel accomplished like I worked toward something and it paid off.

Without specific goals you don't have these accomplished, motivational days.. at least not very often. Which some people need.

Lol at Nelson sure knows how to stir up a hornets nest and keep things interesting around here.

I have to say all my training is based around just building muscle, I have been leaning out narurally as I put on size, so I have to agree with Nelson to a point. On the other hand goal setting is an important part of productive peoples lives and most people need goals to feel as if the are accomplishing something both short and long term.

Do what works best for you bro's!!!!

so we can have goals, but we are not alowed to talk about them? I mean do you even think before you type?

Do you attempt to comprehend before you respond?

Let me put it in simpler terms. Expecting X result from a particular cycle is stupid. Go as far as you can go. THAT should be the goal.

I have run into tools like this as well and I'm no where near your size. They ask questions about what they are doing wrong but don't want to hear the answers. I tell them my opinion and they say the same shit, "My genetics won't let me gain any more no matter what I do." Yet, I'm telling them WHAT TO DO! lol Its like, do you want to know what you're doing wrong or not?

small cawk looks better on a smaller man that a bigger man..u might want to stop working out to get smaller.

just sayin

I never thought about it that way. Then i should get tiny and cut as a twig to make my cock look fat? I've been doing it all wrong.

Out with the dbol and in with the winny.

Winny gets you cut right?

Kinda STRANGE thread - I dont get it.

If people wanna set targets then let em - you cant bark orders at people bro

Not barking bro. I just see people taking steroids because they have this arbitrary goal in mind and they want to know what combination and what dosage will bring about their hopes and wishes. They need a reality check.

I agree with Nelson because I see the point. I do not agree with emotional reactions from people in this aspect. When they are going to start a cycle, they become like kids in a candy store and they start like "I'm gonna gain 20 pounds"; "I'm gonna do this on-diet"; or "this will be a bulking cycle" or a "cutting cycle" or "I'm so excited that I'm already planning my next cycle" fuck that shit!

non of all that shit exist in my reality. This is a lifestyle and if your good at the game you'll have constant improvement. That's how the champions of the past did it.

A woman's ass is the greatest invention of all time.

Agreed. A woman's ass is the greatest invasion of all time.

Ok I will weigh in on this take. Goals are important in general. Daily goals, short term & long term goals, all necessary in the journey of success.
So I disagree with Nelson blurting out about goals, but I know he does this for effect (and it usually works)
But I agree that goals for a cycle should not be specific to size, weight, strength.. it should be "to be stronger than an ox", "bigger than ever", "ripped as fuck".
This way it's never enough. If you gain 20 lbs..great! Make it fucking 30!!! Keep eating, keep training, keep working, and eventually take over the world!!
Just be ready for that pesky green guy when you get there.
Just remember this...If you run into needto and want to distract him, throw a few vials of Primo in the air...he will have no choice but to save the Primo. I know this to be true

Fuck! I'm on the add 2" to your dick cycle..... NO WONDER IT'S NOT WORKING!

Definitely over a gram. And definitely will need to utilize bridging/cruising techniques.

OK I guess I will start with getting my wife to make me a sandwich. Not taking over the world but it can be just as hard. If I can accomplish this I will be well on my way. :D

are you saying the avergae recreational bodybuilder its possible to build muscle and lose fat at sametime hence you should always focus on adding muscle as fat loss will accour anyhow?

For the most part, yeah. Sometimes you need to gain some fat in order to get size. Other times you have to sacrifice some size to get leaner. One may call those "goals" but what I object to is when people say "How do I reach my goal of X % bodyfat by June?" That's ridiculous.

You know what you have to do. The end result will be what it is, depending on how hard you work and how well you execute it.

Does she have your cookbook? It might make it easier for her, and would be a great stocking stuffer.

why can't you do both? I got plenty of goals. some short term and some long term. not all are going to be obtainable, but ill bust my ass to get their. at least I have something to work toward. just doing better is not good enough. its a copout for not pushing yourself even harder.

Nelson-

Thanks for the words of wisdomw...always appreciated. It's nothing I didn't already know, but a nice reminder just the same.

I agree with Nelson full heartily! I believe by doing your first cycle of test will solve all goal talks..... :) Kidding Nelson, just playing bro.

I would like to ask you a question sir because I'm very confused with the zillions of products out there that you supposedly need to gain all the mass and strength you can.... Now that I will be on a maintenance dosage (HRT) at best from now on.... what supplements should I take to be as big and strong as I can be and what do you take yourself and is it your goal to be as big and strong as possible as well?

Definitely UNLEASHED. A multi (DX7) is also needed every day.

POST CYCLE for estrogen control.

I actually take dozens of other supps for everything ranging from mental acuity to cholesterol to immunity. But for HRT the ones mentioned are a must.

Nels,

Does Post Cycle control E? If so, to what degree and in what fashion please.

Gotta say, I love the Post Cycle and Unleased combo. I stopped takin it for about 10 days and noticed a big drop in libido.

Yes, it does control e -- to what degree is impossible to say, as would be the case with anything. Not as much as a-dex for sure, but most people using it with a super low dosage of dex (1/4 mg 2x's a week) seem to do very well. No bloat, no gyno.

The way you felt without the two supps is how you would normally feel in a suppressed state, which shows how significantly they help.

Thanks Nelson,

But LOL at this thread! Maybe you were havin a bad day!!! im a perfectionist to a fault, an I never set goals, apart from unrealistic dreamlike ones - thats what I focus on. Every moment, every meal, every rep I make the most of...

i work in an environment of wall-street-type assholes who set short, medium and long tem goal - I just play along. But, if someone wants to set a goal, AS LONG AS ITS WELL THOUGHT OUT, and realistic then let em if that works for that person.

I see where ur comin from, but you have a lifetime of knowledge and experience so it all seems much more straightfprward 2 u than a novice...just sayin...

also just sayin...great products...seriously effective :-) - u have indirectly helped spread the word that the Cobracock is the best ball in town!

...I never set goals, apart from unrealistic dreamlike ones...

Little confusing, lol.

But what works best for me I find is having one big goal your working towards, then a bunch of smaller goals that you constantly change. So you always have that feeling of success and improvement.

I feel in anything goals are great to have so you're constantly moving ahead.

Seriously though, I don't ever set goals in ANYTHING. That way I am never disappointed. And it feels PHENOMINAL.

This is best.

Also expect this from others and you'll never be disappointed in them too.

Goals = bad.
