Headed for the gym?

YouTube - Bodybuilding Classic Images

Here's a neat little montage from the days before..

GH

Clen

SARMS

SERMS

Tren

DNP

Diuretics

Implants

Lipo

Synthol

IGF

Slin

Threadmills

Pretty much, dbol, deca, winstrol and primo was it. And dosages at a fraction of what is used today. (Oddly enough, injectable vitamins and aminos were being used since the 60's). Some of those guys were natty.

In 1967 there was an estimated 2 thousand gyms in the United States. Today, there are over a million.

If the ghosts of the past could see you now, would they think you were training hard enough?

Have a good work out.

But that must mean that those old schoolers had the proper DIET and TRAINING regime instead of looking for the golden calf.....Hmmm, where have I heard that B4?

they had test too back then. even so that's impressive.

Test use was actually rare. Dbol was considered superior. Out of all the old timers I've interviewed/spoke to, none of them used test. Mostly dbol and winny.

Ok now I know for sure my genetics suck ass. Thank's Nelson. Haha. That was messmerizing to watch, very cool.

I love the old school training nothing but hardcore workouts and no pussy shit I train just like the old school guys the old school worked twice as hard as bodybuilders today with half the amount of drugs and got almost the same results!!

Do you have examples or can direct me to what there diets looked like from your interviews or whom you spoke with personally?

I'd have to dig it up but eggs were a staple -- up to a dozen a day. Steak and salad. Blairs protein. Lots of liver pills. Other than that, basic food.

Nelson if you wouldn't mind looking for some of that diet info I'm sure other ef members besides myself would appreicate the info as detailed as possible.

Thanks socal

From what I have read, Frank Zane may have been an exception to this.

He did not like dbol due to bloat. He used test, oral primo and T3.

Never having spoken to him, this may all be bull. Anyone know for certian? Just curious...

nelson you should be happy people do steroids or you wouldnt have any customers

He actually did mess his thyroid up on t-3.

Are you kidding? Remember the Hot Stuff days? They made a fortune selling a supplement that was "okay" and promoted as a steroid replacement. Can you imagine how well UNLEASHED and BIG BLAST would do today if no steroids were available? I'd be able to retire a very rich man.

Like the Anabolic Diet?

High Protein/High Fat/Low Carb and then a couple of days a week you eat up a lot of complex carbs with minimal fats.

Damn this thread was awesome, ive watched the video twice.. Really wish I knew what they ate and supplemented like and what their routines really consisted of.. They all look similar.. Dense.

The density comes from hard natural training. As mentioned, they were big on eggs and Blairs protein was made from milk and whole eggs. It's one of the reasons I used whole eggs in BIG BLAST. It's natures most anabolic food! It contains all the elements to create a life -- the only food that does. Other than that, they used crap supplements which they'll even admit weren't very good -- brewers yeast, cod liver oil, bone marrow (yep), protien pills made from soy. Diet was simple. Lots of meat. Wheat germ and peanut butter was big. Potatoes were considerd the most fattening food. They generally avoided sugar and they weren't afraid of milk.
