I hear the negatives far outweigh the benefits, and although my GP was very thorough when prescribing it, i'm quite adamant it's completely necessary.

Anyone have experience with this type of med?

i was on that shit from 5th grade all the way through my senior year in highschool. im a sophmore in college right now and i quit taking it bc i couldnt eat and i couldnt lift. everytime i would go to the gym i would have no energy and no enthusiasm plus i would often get a sick feeling at the gym

My best bro took that lost about 50 pounds, stregnth, and all. It's also very addicting. The year he stopped taking it he SWOLE the fuck up. I mean big. Told me his appetite was all fucked up on it.

Yeh this is what i'm scared of ...and i'm quite small as it is...but i'm being told i need it. I wonder if there's an alternative that isn't so detrimental that i could ask for instead?

Who's telling you that you "need it"? A doc? If its for school then fuck that and just study. The high is very likable....

Ive been taking adderall for a few years, I eat just fine and I workout just fine. I dont find it overly addicting either, I think if you get negative experience from it your taking to much or you dont meet the requirements to take an amphetamine. Try it at the dose the doc started you with and dont deviate from that. If you have to stop taking it u will be able to and you will be fine.

Provigil is better for focus.
If you got ADHD, though, then no.

Just be responsible and don't abuse it.

My brother takes it, and he's a radiation oncologist.

I take provigil when I have to focus on a research project or behind on grading papers.

Its fairly safe in low dosages, in the long term.... your body will become dependent on it.
Just like any other substance.
The d2 elevation is less than dextroamphetamine, but more gradual and less sharp. I Know this because of a research project a former friend did on combining medication with meditation as treatment for adhad and cognitive behavioral treatment.
