WTF did you not read the posts before this one! All my services have been done on time and I have NEVER HAD ONE ISSUE with my car until now. Shit just happens. I bought the car brand new at the end of 2001, I take care of my stuff.

Most Jetta's were made in Mexico!! I will not even go there. Plus working in the service dept. for VW I have seen so many things that turned me off from ever buying one. The labor alone of those cars will bre break the bank.

Working in the service department for any dealership would allow you to see the seemy white underbelly.

There's probably someone at the Toyota shop saying "We have this one customer with a rod knock who came in twice complaining about odd noises, and no one diagnosed it correctly. I'll never buy a Toyota."

No. Don't feel bad about having paid it off. Look at it this way -- how much worse would you feel if all this happened and you still owed money on the car???
