Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Mood= Fine
Soreness = Hmm just stiff here and there, not really sore
Weight = 153
Food = O.k. so I hit up the Barnes and Noble and did some reading. I was previously thinking and stated in here about doing some calorie cycling and I think it is time...
Most days currently I have been keeping cals at 2,000. Now is another mental challenge for me to start increasing those cals more. I did this long math computation and was shocked as to how many cals I should be eating, and how many I am actually eating. I am not striving for these numbers necessarily, but more guaging my body reactions through 1) scale weight, 2)body fat calipers, 3) pictures, 4) clothes fitting.
The math behind all the madness takes into account RMR, Thermic Effects of Food, Activity thermogenesis, Body Fat and Body Mass to give me my fat mass.
Once I punched all my digits in it told me I need to be at 2830 kcal on not work-out days, and 3250 cals on work-out days to put on size.
Now I never take to heart that something I am told is necessarily accurate but just a idea to go by.
So.... I did increase cals to 2,000 about 2 weeks ago now and my plan is to increase cals every 2 weeks by 250 cals (there about) while keeping an eye on what is happening to my numbers in and out of the gym, and my clothes fitting. If at the end of 2 weeks I am getting results that I am happy with I will maintain that calorie intake until a) my numbers stabilize and nothing is happening (increase food), or b) I start adding on BF in which case my cals will go no higher.
On weight days cals will be about 400 cals higher then non-weight days.
Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun = 2,250
Tues/Thurs = 1,850
This is for the first round...
Again the diet will be clean and I'm still working on the macro's portion.
